Thomas Cook

Tour Operators on Corfu

Sarah S  (08 September 2007)        10/10

I have never travelled with thomas cook before but i have no doubts about travelling with them again. From the moment we arrived at the airport to travel to Corfu, they were proffessional, helpful and friendly. The rep on the coach, Amandine, was also our rep at the hotel too. She gave us little packs on arrival on the coach containing a newsletter, helpful hints, emergency contact information and local information about the island and cultures. She was always there when she said she would be and was always smiling and happy, she was good at her job and looked like she enjoyed it too!

Emma B  (19 September 2006)

We found Thomas Cook to be very good. The flight was very comfortable (but we were in xtra leg room coz my partner is 6'6" tall and he was comfortable!) Our rep Leanne was helpful, although she didn't always carry out things she said she was going to, but a good laugh none the less and the trips we went on went without a hitch!

Dolly F  (29 August 2006)

hey only saw my rep once we was out all the time forgot her name people from thomas cook called her posh girl tho,

FLIGHT WAS SOO UNCOMFORTABLE CUD NOT SLEEP FOR SH**IT LOL

Hannah G  (04 August 2006)

The flying with Thomas Cook is way too uncomfortable I have flown with many different airlines before but I have always been able to at least move my legs! The rep in the Mega Idri (Claire) was good and helpful though and the apartment was nice but we went on a boat trip and it was boring and we only got one piece of chicken off the BBQ so felt like a waste of money overall plus the bus was very late to pick us up about an hour stood waiting!

Michael D  (01 August 2006)

There seems to be a problem with the Thomas Cook reps this year, although our exprience was not as bad ad Lyndsey's.  I could not fault the transfers between Corfu and Kavos - and vice versa. In general our rep did visit the hotel quite a bit.  But was she good at her job?

I doubt it!  She seemed very inexperienced at her job. During our stay in Kavos she had been reprimanded by her superior about something involving a Kavos nightclub. As her "punishment" she had to work late and arrange some kind of poolside entertainment for the guest in our apartment complex. She spent much of that bleating her heart out and received a great deal of sympathy from some of the guests. However, came the next day she spent the whole day flirting around with a resident of the complex who was there for the season. Nothing was arranged, and those who had given her sympathy the previous night felt betrayed somewhat!

On the return flight home, I asked several other holidaymakers who had booked with Thomas Cook about their experience for this season. Many expressed dis-satisfaction with their reps for pretty much the same reason. Inexperience!

Claire   (15 August 2005)

Stayed at the Beach Star Hotel in may. Our rep Greame was a great guy. Really friendly and helpful. Had no problems at all with where we were satying or the transfer. Although we found our excursion was quite boring...But overall everything was fab.

Tom M  (30 July 2005)

we were in Sidari with TC, they were fine until leaving time, the bus was an hour late, when we got to Corfu airport there were queues everywhere, we were put on a patch of freshly watered grass opposite the airport doors, the Mossies thought we were a Buffet, we got more bites there than during the Holiday!, the reps were rude, unhelpful and frankly useless!. Once on the plane it was the usual Charter, Shoehorned into a space a baby would need, i really feel for anyone over 6ft!

Roger W  (24 May 2005)

San Stefanos May 2005.  Reps - Jo & Laura.  We had a great time and Jo was more often there than not. They both got a bit of flack for the long coach transfers and the timing of the flights but that's not really under their control any more than unmotivated Greek check in staff and non existant baggage handlers. To cap it all, some muppet has designed the departure check in area around the size of a McDonalds. The whole terminal building is only about as big as my local B & Q !  One of the oldest civilisations in the world and I think I saw luggage going round the carousel from the last Olympics !

Helen Y  (15 October 2004)

Just got back from Sidari a few days ago after our first holiday abroad, we booked with Thomas Cook and all i can say is what excellent service we had right from the word go. Our rep Lucy was great she was always on hand if we needed her and very helpfull and informative, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was always playing with the kids and she made the effort to introduce herself to everyone individually and spend time talking to them. The apartments we stayed in were brilliant too, excellent choice for first time holiday makers like ourselves would definatly book with Thomas Cook again when we go away next time.

Kelly S  (26 September 2004)

VLucy was our rep throughout our stay in sidari, very nice girl and very helpful. Went on the greek night with them but was very dissapointed. Really is not worth the money. The food was awful and if you have kids, there is no room on the dance floor for them to enjoy themselves. Overeall the service from Thomas cook was very good.

Hi Annmarie

Thomas Cook, JMC and Sunset all come under the same umbrella. We stay at the Beach Star Hotel every year and for the last 3 they have been under JMC then Thomas Cook. Next year however their apartments will be under Thomas Cook and the hotel will be under Sunset! The Sunset Brochure isnt out until September and you may find that your apartments are in there if they are still contracted to TC, but you wont be able to find anything out until the brochure comes out. Its total idiocy as far as we are concerned as they are all together and we can't understand why they are doing it. We will just have to wait and book when we can.

Caroline

Annmarie R  (11 August 2004)

Would consider going back to Corfu (Sidari) to Ektors apartments however, they are not in the brochure for next year. Would like to know why? If you wanted to go back who would you contact now if not Thomas Cook.
Couldn't agree more the rep Ricci was not the most helpful person on the planet. He had no local knowledge at all, asked for bus timetables did not have any and could not tell me where to get one.Asked about Greek Nights could not suggest a good place for dancing-was very disappointed. One of the holiday makers injured his leg but Ricci was too busy running off to FAX the information about how many excursions he had booked. If he had even had the decency to ask the injured man how he was but no---he was just too busy.
However, that aside I still had a wonderful holiday. Maybe someone more knowledgable for a family apartment block would go down well or more training should be given on how to deal with peoples enquiries in a better manner.

Annmarie R (11 August 2004)

I really enjoyed Ektors apartments and would consider going again. However, they are not in the Thomas Cook brochure for next year. Does anyone know why? Any information would be very helpful

Stuart M  (31 July 2004)

The only thing to let the side down for Thomas Cook was the Rep at Ektors Apartments in Sidari.
Ricci was very poor with regards to knowledge of his job. He didn't pass on faults in the apartments for a whole week and when he did it was because I was there with him and the owner. He also gave me wrong information regarding property of mine which was damaged in transit and I needed a report form from him but he insisted that I didn't and that was nothing to do with him...wrong! and that if I did need any form I would get it at the airport and that they would back date it...wrong!
Ricci was a fun guy... if you liked being thrown into the water EVERY DAY!

Mike G  (23 July 2004)

Flights were good although seats were the most cramped I've ever had. Transfers were poor, hot coaches with air con that didn't work. Reps seemed to know nothing of the loacl area, one was actually quite rude. I won't Thomas Cook it again !

Caroline M  (08 July 2004)

our rep was great fun. amanda. she was a great laugh.and a wicked person

Vicky A  (02 July 2004)

Our rep Jo at the Beach Star Apts was fab. We had a few hiccups with our rooms but that was the fault of the travel agent and Jo did her very best to sort things out. The flights were on time, the apartments were fab. A bit pricey i thought but we had a great time so i guess it was worth it!

Emily J  (28 August 2003)

although our rep was a lovely person they all seemed worried only about getting drunk and getting laid.
whenever we needed something our rep was nowhere to be seen and the only way of contacting her was to ring a mobile number.
our cleaners ripped us off on our last day so beware!! keep ur keys and valuables right by ur bed when ur in ur room or lock them up somewhere safe.
we got kicked out of our room at 12 and had to wander around kavos until 3am so try and book for an extra day cos its a pain.
all in all we had a good holiday but the tour operators were not up to scratch.

Ryan L  (19 August 2003)

WERE LIVING AT THE STONE PUB, KNOW ONE COULD SPEAK ENGLISH BEDDING WAS NEVER CHANGED OR TOWELS, KEPT ROOM ON UNTIL 8 WERE THROWN OUT AT 7 SO THEY COULD CLEAN IT FOR THE 1ST TIME IN A WEEK.APART FROM THAT KAVOS WAS GREAT

Darren &  (28 June 2003)
