I think there could be a bit of a mixup in names of hotels. Hotel Sidari Beach is not the Beach Star Hotel. Although it is the next hotel on from the footbridge at the end of Megali Beach. I have had adverse and good comments about accommodation at the Hotel Sidari Beach. Most of the complaints were about the all-inclusive. I have stayed at the Beach Star Hotel many times and also Astoria and private apartments. I would not recommend going all inclusive anywhere as you are restricted and there are too many wonderful restaurants and lots of new greek people to meet while your there.

I do have a map which I made up of Sidari. It may be a bit late for you now as I don't know when you are going on holiday in August. It does not list your apartments but it does list others that may be near it especially if you share a pool. The only problem with the map is that it is A3.

If the apartments are part of the Hawaii complex then you will have no problem whatsoever. As far as the others are concerned I cannot comment. It might be an idea to check with your tour operator and see if there have been any complaints.

As we visit Sidari twice a year we know very well what the resort is like and the accommodation. As for representatives we have had bad and good. The only way that we collectively can do anything about bad resort representatives, their inefficiency and their manners, is to make an official complaint when you get back to the UK. This will be taken seriously. It is no use trying to get through to them at the resort it just doesnt work. Ask for a complaint form, write your complaint and keep a copy to take back with you. If the tour operator gets enough of these forms, something will be done. Its no use complaining after the event and not putting it in writing. They cannot do anything about it if they are in the dark. When you send your report in they have 28 days in which to reply. I'm not saying that you will be entitled to any compensation, that would depend on the severity of the complaint, but at least you will get an acknowledgement that the complaint has been taken seriously.

We visit the Symposio every night when we are on holiday, we always mean to go somewhere else but never do. Have been going to Sidari now for 7 years and know Nikos and his family very well. Excellent food, bon fillet is superb as well as his King Prawn starter and homemade vegetable soup. You won't find Bisto or Oxo cube in his restaurant, every sauce is prepared from scratch. Will be back to see him in September, can't wait.

Check Sidari Apartments for info on the Yannis apartments. As far as mosquitoes are concerned as the temperature drops at night there are not as many as there are high season. They do not like the cold. Having said that I find the tablets are better than the liquid and I use Avon Woodland Fresh Dry Oil Spray from the So Soft range which they don't seem to like.
