Corfu Plazza Apartments - (Accommodation in St George Sth)

I stayed at the Corfu Plazza Apartments, it is very family orientated. We felt this made us feel safer when walking about on our own at night. Its only about 5mins walk to the beach. The apartments were cleaned daily so very clean.
I must agree with others that the prices on drinks and ice creams are expensive at the pool bar. Some ice creams were 3 euros which is about £2.10. It is cheaper to drink in the bars and tavernas along the seafront. And ice creams etc are cheaper in the supermarkets of which there are plenty!
Comments on St George resort: - English products seemed to be more expensive so try to buy tea bags, coffee etc before you go.
Ciggerettes in corfu are amazingly cheap!!!!! A pack of 20 of Regal is equivalant to £1.80. You can buy 200 for equivalent to £18.00. There are also some cigs called Leader which you can get for £7.00 for 200.
Comments on Restaurants and Tavernas:-
There is a chinese restaurant along the seafront, looks lovely but be ware!! we went there on our last nite as a treat, the service was disgusting! And the food was so salty that we couldnt eat it. To be fair we did go at about 12pm but still it is one of the most expensive places to eat. We did complain but instead of recieving an apology we recieved the bill! My favourite place to have a relaxing drink was La Bistrot, the staff were lovely, very friendly. The drinks are cheap as well. and its a lovely spot to sit and watch the sea.

Had a superb time in Corfu, would highly recommend St George. The plaza apartments were clean, as the poor cleaners whom no doubt were paid peanuts would cart a huge shopping trolley round in the sweltering heat all day cleaning the lot!
AVOID THE IRON DRAGON, CHINESE RESTAURANT! Had a hideous meal there, very pricey, and the staff had obviously had a bit too much to drink, as they were all very ill mannered. You cant judge a book by it's cover, it looks lovely from the outside, but i certainly wont be taking my kids there again (they already picked up the f*** wrd), that was enough for one night!!!
If you do decide to hire a car, and you would like to see a bit of culture, avoid Kavos and venture up the hills to the small village of Chlomos, beautiful views..be sure to take your camera!!

Nice atmosphere, however bar was a little tatty, not tempted to try the food, as it was nothing different to what you get in England, and the toilets were disgusting! Try Le Bistrot, which is just down the road, lovely sea views, same price drinks, staff really friendly and it is incredibly clean!
