Aphrodite Hotel - (Accommodation in Roda)

Response to Nicola Cottrell - try and have a look at the DIRECT HOLIDAYS brochure as you'll find it's about £150 per person cheaper than Panorama! We've just booked to go with them on the 2nd May 2005 for two weeks and it's only £598 for both of us - Panorama quoted us £898!!!!!

Absolutely loved it!!! Spaghetti Carbonara was to die for. They also have daily evening specials which are excellent value. We were staying in the hotel so had 10% discount on top! Would recommend the Club Sandwich or Burgers for lunch. Service was excellent and everything was spotless.

Ate here a few times and always had a good meal - just like all the rest, service can be slow if the restaurant is crowded!

Can't understand why this only gets 4 out of 10 - food, service, price and location are all excellent!!!

Absolutely fantastic again - last stayed here two years ago and it's just the same!!! Everything about this hotel is wonderful - located just across a quiet road from the beach, staff are very friendly and helpful especially Haroula & Spiros, Aphrodite & Takis, Spros, Nouffres and Angelo. Rooms are spotless and the continental breakfast is excellent. Cooked 'English' breakfasts are available at an extra cost but why go to Greece to eat British food anyway. Rooms are basic (some with bath/shower, some with shower only) and do not include fridges or tea making facilities - it's a hotel not a block of apartments. If you stay around the pool all day you are NOT allowed to bring food and drink in from outside - this is the same for all hotels though. I would not recommend this hotel or resort if you are young, free & single and looking for a lively holiday - go to Sidari or Kavos for that!

May - (Best Time to Visit)

Got back last night - didn't have fantastic weather this time! Wed 4th to Sat 7th was cloudy or raining, Tues 10th and Wed 11th cloudy but rest of the time ok. It did get quite chilly in the evenings - you do need some sort of cover up.

Great food, great service again! Had the Moussaka, Gyros Platter and Spaghetti Cardonara and they were all very good. Food was hot, portions were good and it's not expensive.

Maggies Place - (Restaurants in Roda)

Fantastic fish and chips - if you finish the large one you get a free t-shirt. My husband and I have been there 3 times and I can't finish the small portion and he can't finish the medium!!!!!

Nikos Family Taverna - (Restaurants in Roda)

Loved it! Tzatziki with pitta bread and tomato and cucumber salad for starter with either mousakka or spaghetti carbonara for main course every time and it was great. Lucy and Nikos are very friendly and the service is brilliant.

Only ate there once this year - had the Chicken Curry with rice and chips and it was very, very good. Service was also very good but being the start of the season it was very quiet.
