Lia - (Accommodation in Sidari)

Tracy B

been home 2 weeks now and stayed at the lia for 2 weeks, I have been to greece many times before and know the standards can be lower than in the uk, but the lia is probably the worst I have ever stayed in. I travelled as part of a party of eight so got to see what most of the rooms were like, if you are in room 5 you've drawn a short straw. This was my room, the bedding and towels were clean when we arrived on the monday evening, they were changed once the following sunday and that was it, the cups etc had to be washed before they could be used, the fridge was rusty, the toilet seat was too big for the toilet and didn't fit so when you sat on it it fell off! most of the lights didn'thave bulbs that worked and the room backs on to a shop so dont expect a lie in on a morning as you could hear banging and talking and cleaning from the restaurant which is also attached to the same block. also on the first night there was an attempted break in at my friends appartment we reported it to the rep along with the faults in our room and nothing was done about our room and the door was fixed and that was the end of that. The only good thing about the Lia is the location its not far from the Canal D'Amour area of sidari and has got some really nice restaurants nearby, I would go back to sidari but avoid the Lia.

The room we were in was pretty grubby but bearable as we didn't spend much time in it. We did report toilet seat and a few other things to rep but nothing was done about it and after the attempted break in, which was reported to the rep at the same time, the solution was the maid turning up with a tube of super glue to fix the door!! Rooms 1 and 2 were pretty ok, they are on a separate block and didn't suffer from the noise we did (we were travelling as part of a party of eight and these were the other rooms they were staying in) it would just have been too much hassle to try and find alternative accomodation for all of us which is why we didn't ask to be moved.
