Aphrodite Hotel - (Accommodation in Roda)

Faith S

Hi We are staying at this Hotel in September 2006. I have noticed in quite a few comments that people have mentioned the road noise at night. I am a really light sleeper and am a little concerned about this, is it really that bad? Can anyone recommend a room number that is away from the road so I can request it through our tour operator?

Aphrodite Hotel - (Accommodation in Roda)

Hi Could you please let me know the following about the Aphrodite Hotel: 1. Do they have safety deposit boxes in the room? If so, is there and what is the charge for these? If they have not got them in the room, have they got them elsewhere? (i.e. when we stayed in Zante last year they had them in their shop) 2. Do the rooms have air conditioning? If so, what is the cost? Also, do they have fans to rent or is there anywhere local you could get a fan from? 3.Also, how did you cope without having a fridge in the room? I do not care about food as we always eat out but whenever I go on holiday I like to have a big bottle of cold water (and also like having cold wine!)

Aphrodite Hotel - (Accommodation in Roda)

We stayed at the Aphrodite from the 28 August till the 11 September and thought it was a really nice hotel.

It is in a ideal location right in the middle of the resort, to both sides of the hotel there is restaurants, shops and bars.

The room was very clean, they came every day to clean the room and the towels were probably changed about five time in the two weeks.

The bar was really nice, it was really relaxing having a drink looking out to sea and across to Albania. The staff at the bar were very friendly.

The pool area was nice but we did not actually go to this pool, we went to a pool at the Panorama which was really nice.

The only downside was on our last night, there was a leak in the bathroom and there was water all over the floor. We went to reception to tell them and they were a bit rude about it and said as we were going home the next day there was not much they could do. This was fair enough but you would have thought that they would like to maintain their hotel?

Apart from that, we had a really nice holiday and would definately go back to this hotel and to Roda again.

Harbour Bar - (Bars in Roda)

We went to the Harbour bar a few times on our holiday and really liked it in there. There was a good choice of cocktails and the staff were friendly.

Corfu Town by Night - (Corfu Excursions)

Faith S

We went to Corfu town by boat at night and it was excellent.

We stayed in Roda so we had to get a coach to Kassiopi and then got the boat from there. We booked this through the My Travel rep and it cost twenty euros each, but if you book it from one of the travel places in Roda you can get it for fifteen euros.

The boat trip going was really nice, an hours journey to corfu town and you see some lovely scenery. Would much rather go by boat than be stuck on a coach. I was not as keen on the journey back as it was a little bit choppy for me but it has to be better than driving through the mountains.

Corfu town was an ok place and I think the four hours we were given to spend there was just about the right amount of time.

Panorama Studios - (Accommodation in Roda)

Faith S

We did not stay here so we cannot comment on the rooms but we did go to the panorama every day of our two weeks stay for the Pool.

The pool area is lovely here, even when every sunbed was full, it still had a feeling like you were the only ones there as it was so peaceful,

The pool itself is a good size and is really clean.

The pool bar was really nice and the owners were very friendly and gave us free drinks, which we thought was really nice.

We also ate at the restaurant three times during our holiday and thought the food was lovely.

If I go back to Roda, I would again spend my days lazing by their pool!

First Choice - (Tour Operators on Corfu)

Faith S

We booked our holiday with First Choice to go to San Stefanos in Corfu. Although we booked through them, we ended up going on a Thomas Cook Flight (First Choice changed our flight which I was not too pleased about).

However, I was extremely impressed with our accomodation (Rose Garden Studios) and our First Choice Reps. I cannot remember their names but it was two lads, who went out of their way to keep us happy. We missed one of the trips we were booked on (silly me had left my alarm clock on english time so we got up two hours too late) but the rep managed to re book us on another date. He did not have to do this, we did not ask him too either as it was our fault but he went out of his way to do this for us.

overall, I was really impressed with First Choice.

Rose Garden Apts - (Accommodation in San Stefanos)

Faith S

We stayed at these appartments from the 4 May 2007 for one week.

As soon as we pulled up at these appartments I was really impressed, the gardens were lovely, the pool area really nice.

Our room was on the ground floor and was massive, and really nice and clean.

For the first few days we were the only people by the pool and it was really nice and relaxing.

Later in the week more people came to the appartments but it still had a really relaxing feel to it.

The manageress of the rose gardens is such a lovely lady, her whole family is. They were always giving us free drinks, free games of pool, popcorn, crips etc etc. Her English is not perfect but it was all the more fun trying to communicate with her, and speaking a few words in greek (morning, hello, thank you) really goes a long way.

The appartments are about 10 minutes walk away from the shops and restaurants but this was nice because it was so quiet and relaxing.

I would without a doubt stay at these appartments again.
