Roda - (Resorts on Corfu)

Gail .

We just came back from Roda, and we loved it.  We read The Rough Guide to Corfu before and it said it was overbuild so we were quite worried, but we came to the conclusion that they had never been to Roda!  The beaches are pretty much just pebbles, but there are many bars where you can go for a dip in their pool and sunbathe, etc if your accommodation doesn't have the facilities.  We stayed at the Afrodite Hotel which is right on the beach.  It was lovely, and we can definitely confirm the best restaurant is Nikos up Roda Old Road.  It sells wonderful Greek food, and the staff are really friendly.

Aphrodite Hotel - (Accommodation in Roda)

Loved it!  The place is lovely and clean, in a fantastic location.  I know a few people were bothered by the noise (which is caused by mopeds and motorbikes mostly, but occassionally by other holiday makers laughing at their friends trying on hats with hair attached at the supermarket- it was rather amusing to see).

Basically neither myself or my Fiance could fault it.

Nikos Family Taverna - (Restaurants in Roda)

Gail .

This is, without doubt the BEST restaurant in Roda.  The food is wonderful, the staff are great.  We always had the greek food - generally 2 starters, 2 main courses, a soft drink and a litre of wine - we never spent more than 40 euros, and that included a tip.

Niko, Lucy and Eddie always made us feel very, very welcome.

The only bad thing was that we had to come home!
