Robertos I and II - (Accommodation in Roda)

I can't beleive the last other comments made on Robertos II. I've just got back yesterday and I couldn't wait to put them right. I can't say anything about Robertos I, I didn't see it. But Robertos II was no problem. Yes, it is over a camera shop but that isn't a problem with us. It didn't make a difference at all, no noise or anything. The apartments were VERY clean and maids cleaned it twice in one week, they did this when we'd left also. We hadn't noticed them coming or going just coming home with the room clean. There's no damp. The rooms had a door with a vent, glass doors then a curtain accross. This kept the rooms cool, you could also leave them open but locked to let any breeze in. The balcony was hot, but we liked that. Isn't that the reason you go abroad for the sun? Get sum extra rays whilst the GFs were getting ready and have a drink. We didn't get one fly in our room!

I went with my girlfriend, my mate and his girlfriend sharing the apartment. We had two very nice sized rooms with plenty room. We actually rented a room on the last day as we had a late flight at the Silver Beach Hotel up the road which we used their pool. I'd rather have stayed at Robertos II. The rooms were tiny, full of flysants, too hot, tiny balcony and we were ripped off too and charged more than everyone else.
The pool and bar was nice there though. Very nice. We spent most days day there just relaxing. That was only 100m away from us, and if we went 100m in the other direction that was the beach! Perfect location. There was an unfinished building in front of us, which was a bit of an eyesore but not a big problem. Most of what you could see were the nice bars and if you got a room at the back of the apartments you could see the beach!!

With the doors shut at night, that blocked out any noise. You could hear a carcoachike go past now and again, but unless your hotel is situated 10mile out of town in the country side I reckon you'll get this anywhere - it definately wasn't a nuisance.

One other nice little touch, for familys or anyone really. Right beneath the apartments was the local doctors which was open quite a lot of the time, sometimes late into the night with a call out number if not.

As for the drains, Greece doesn't have good drains anyway and you're told not to flush papers down the toilet and put them in the bin at the side. This is the same all over Corfu and I think all of Greece. It was a bit funny to get used to but not that much of a problem. I didn't smell any bad smells and the bins weren't even outside our apartments, nor did they smell really.

I think whoever wrote the last comment wouldn't be happy in a 5 star hotel, on the beach in the Maldives!
I went into our travel agents playin up hell about our apartments before we went, waving about these reviews I'd printed off. I was assured it would be okay, and I'd just like to apoligise because they were right!
