Mistral Cafe Bar - (Bars in Roda)

Chaz B

this is the best bar in roda. we ate and drank in ere every night. it saved us from cracking up as we were staying in a hotel from hell.
all the staff are great and make you feel welcome.
They are all funny and mad.
food is great and not expensive so are the drinks.
music is fantastic
what more could you want?
missing the place already
would come back again

Corfu Town - (Resorts on Corfu)

Chaz B

Corfu town is excellent. There are many many shops and cafes and bars. Lots of photos to take.
It is best if you go on a coach which costs you 8 euros there and back. The coach picks you up at 10am (roda time) and takes you back at 4pm(on the dot). I would recommened the coach best because if you get the local bus there are only two that run each day. So if you miss the one coming back it will cost you alot in taxi fares.
And also you wouldnt like to go in a hire car or scooter (it is not safe) the traffic is just mad to watch. everyone just going anyway they please.you have a policeman trying to control the traffic but all he gets is angry people shouting at him. And they like to bump each others cars so you are safer in a coach.

The harbour is wonderful with the view of the mountains(hills) and the big blue sea. The streets go everyway you can imagine in corfu town. There are shops and cafes in every street you walk down. Although it is best to walk up and down the streets as you may get lost turning all directions. But beaware that the odd scooter likes to charge through the narrow streets and the odd nutter in there car so if you have children keep an eye on them.

The prices are reasonable but if you shop around you may find that some shops are cheaper than others that sell exactly the same things. so you could be in for a bargain.
There is a fantastic bakery we found although i couldnt tell you where to find it again. It`s pasties are wonderful and cheap.

On the front (main road) you get pestered by the big resturants. So its best to keep walking (politeness does not work)

There is a park near the harbour which has a huge fountain and palm trees. So its a good place to sit when you are done shopping and to get a tan. Im not sure if there was a beach in corfu town i only saw a harbour.

corfu town gets a 10/10 from me and my mum. i would recommened this trip to anyone.

Boat trip and beach BBQ - (Corfu Excursions)

Chaz B

Me and my mum went on the boat trip and beach BBQ. The only thing i didnt like was the coach trip. it took over an hour to get to the harbour and i cant even remember where we were lol. (I had too many drinks the night before so i wasnt feeling to well.)~

So when we got on the boat we both already felt sick. And when we setted off it was a complete nightmare. The sea was really choppy that day. so it wasnt good for people who get seasick especially for me. The toliets were okay. The ladies toliet was blocked. So we had to use the mens. So people who were seasick and desperate for the loo had to fight for the one toliet. One women was throwing up in the sink. a little boy was throwing up in the blocked ladies loo. It was like a massacre.
We were suppose to go in the caves but never did. but i wasnt too bothered about that as i was desparte to get off the boat.
The secluded beach made up for it though. it was beautiful. Perfect relaxing and sun tanning place.
The BBQ was good. although my mum didnt get to eat much because she was busy being chased by wasps lol.
If you are near the water sunabathing, watch out for the sea coming in and soaking you through. as we got an unexpected wetting and my camera and phone just missed from being ruined. although my towel was soaked through.
It wasnt too bad coming back as it was quicker.

i wouldnt go on this trip again but it is worth the money to go on it. Just beaware if you get seasick that the waters are not always calm.

September - (Best Time to Visit Corfu)

Chaz B

We went on the 15th september till the 23rd.

although we got there one day late due to flight delays the weather on the 16th was okay although i dont no what it was like in the day time. Sunday`s weather was terrible. we went to the shop down the road, it started raining (fine rain) then it started getting heavier and heavier. The road was flooded and the water started coming into the shop. We were stood there for nearly half an hour and the rain still did not stop. The road was like a river! We couldnt be bothered to wait any longer for the rain to stop so we waded on up the road the water was ankle deep. It was just thundering and lighting most of that day.
The rest of the week wasnt too bad. Not alot of sun for sunbathing on the beach most days. It was still warm in the evenings going cooler as the night went on.
I guess its just pot luck when you decide to go. Oh and for people who hate wasps be aware as it was wasp season when we went something about the grapes? they just sting anyone because they are dying out towards the end of the months.

Roda - (Resorts on Corfu)

Chaz B

Roda is a wonderful place.me and my mum came here for a week holiday. It was our first time in corfu and we stayed in the silver beach hotel. which i must warn people about- do NOT stay in this hotel. If you look at the photos on the internet by some companys you will see beautiful rooms. This is a lie. If you do stay at the hotel get a top floor room as that is were the new rooms are. If you are on the 2nd or bottom floor then you are not in for a very nice stay!     the money we payed wasnt for a buget holiday, if we had payed cheap then we would have thought okay this is what you get on buget holidays but we payed full price and expected more. The rooms are bedsits. Nothing nice or clean about them. lets just say we slept with the light on!! we had to ask for hot water numerous times. The staff are also unpleasent.     We did find a good bar which kept us out late so we didnt have to go back to the room of horrors. The mistral. They have excellent music and karoke. The staff are mad and you can just have a laugh all night. There are quizzes, bingo. I would come back here again it is a lovely place.

Roda Park Restaurant - (Restaurants in Roda)

Chaz B
