Nelly Apartments - (Accommodation in Kassiopi)

June M          8/10

Just got back from the Nelly apartments in Kassiopi. Really liked the location about 200m from the centre but very quiet. The views are lovely you face onto the beach. We had the ground floor two bed apartment which was right beside the pool. It had a seperate lounge area with table kettle and toaster. Quite spacious for Greek standards. The maid was lovely she was in everday and we got plents of clean towels and sheets.
The pool was big enough for the size of the apartments. My two girls were the only children there so they got the pools to themselves nearly all the time. There are plenty of sunbeds but no parasols and no shade so I would buy a parasol for 7 Euro. When the UK had floods Greece was having a heatwave and I think it got up to 44 degrees one of the days and that was in June.
Really liked Kassiopi think it had to be the nicest resort we went to quite a few obviously the least favourite being kavos drove down to take a look too tacky by far great if you are 18 to 23.
Kassiopi has a lovely harbour area. Booked our car with Cosmic travel on the main street towards the harbour. Its run by Vera Joanne and Mike the are English very friendly and helpful we booked it via e mail before we left the UK and paid by Visa when we got there. Very efficient great service they do allsorts of excursions we went to Aqaland on their bus air conditioned and reliable.
There is a scuba diving centre there ran by the ever loving Angelo he has English guys there also. He does Padi courses and try dives he is situated on the road towards the harbour near Cosmic Travel. Very friendly think John will post a seperate comment about that.
Dont think you will be regretting it if you are staying at the Nelly. Wish we were still there.

Enjoy

Kassiopi Star - (Restaurants in Kassiopi)

June M          5/10

Went to the Kassiopi Star for our last meal before leaving as it had been recommended on a few sites. Wish we hadnt. Didnt rate it much at all. Very bland the veg was cold and steamed to death. My youngest got spaghetti neapolitan and there was so little sauce that it was just a pasta taste. I had spaghetti bolognaise wasnt very nice either.
However the service was reall good. If you dont like cats then dont go here they are everywhere. Shame really.

Quite good service. Lauren the rep was really nice she sorted out our air con at the Nelly apartments and she also popped round one of the days to make sure we were okay which was a nice touch as it wasnt on her visit day. No problems at the airport going home quite organised but we didnt have to que outside the building. Happy with Thomson this year.

Thanks June john jaye and laurie

Trip to Corfu Town - (Corfu Excursions)

June M

We went to Corfu town by car. Quite hard to park we managed to get parked for free by the new Port. I think there is pay car parking there also. Be careful when you visit as the main Greek shops are closed Sunday monday and wednesday. All the tourist shops are opened. Its a lovely place with lots of things to see. Have a walk up to the Esplanade. The new fortress and the old one are photo oppertunities. There is a McDonalds Pizza Hut and a Hagan Daz shop if you children are pestering you and they dont want to visit any any more little Tavernas LOL.

Hydropolis Water Park - (Places to Visit on Corfu)

Only 10 minutes in the car from Kassiopi. A lot smaller than Aqualand more for younger kids. Wasnt impressed by the choice of music one of them was that silly song @@@@ you right back which had the f word sung many times which I though totally unsuitable for children even my 13 year old said it was a bit much. Paid 9 Euro to get in I think Aqualand is 22 on the door the park was only about 20% full when we went so plenty of sunbeds nice if you have younger children.
