Pegasus Hotel - (Accommodation in Roda)

Stacey S

Just back yesterday from 10 nights staying at the Pegasus.  It really is a lovely hotel.  Just on the outskirts of Roda, takes about 5-10 min stroll to centre.  Yes ok the room was very basic, but this is Greece and how long are you in it for??  The cleaners came every day (except Sunday) to make your bed and empty the bins, the towels were changed every other day.  The only downside really was our room was overlooking the road and at about 4 o'clock every morning the boy racers started and the cockerels were early starters!!!  The reception staff really were the most lovely and friendly people you could ever meet.  Pool was fantastic, no fights for sunbeds and mattresses for them too!  I would not hesitate to recommend the Pegasus, but would probably try to request a room on the pool side!

Corfu Town by Night - (Corfu Excursions)

Stacey S

First of all, don't book through your rep for any trips!!  Only cost about €13 each for this trip from one of the tourist shops in Roda.  Coach transfer and then lovely hour transfer by boat to Corfu town.  Wasn't overly impressed with Corfu town, seems a bit of a shanty town and every shop sells the same thing, still was a lovely trip and we had a really nice meal sat in one of the squares when we got there.  Well worth the money

Horse Riding - (Corfu Excursions)

Stacey S

We went to Costas Riding in Roda.  Was €15 each although my partner was talking to someone who had paid €30 through their rep.  We really enjoyed it!  It says you get about 2 hours, but probably 1/2 hour to saddle everyone up, then 1 hour led riding through olive groves and on the beach, stop for a drink, then 20 minutes riding back.  You are led all the way so is perfect for the absolute beginner (i.e me!).  Just a tip, take plenty of water with you and wear suitable bottoms etc.  Got a couple of bruises but could just about walk afterwards!!  Definitely a must

Trip to Aqualand - (Corfu Excursions)

Stacey S

Ok, well we have mixed emotions about this trip.  This is the only time really the tourist offices let us down!!  The cost for the trip was €20 - which is pretty good value for transfer from Roda to Aqualand and entrance to the park (entrance is €20 so transfer free) - now the only reason I think the transfer was free is because we had the oldest, worst condition, broken air conditioned coach.  Oh my god!!  We were on the coach for 1 1/2 hours (although only took 50 mins to get back?!) and it was the journey from hell.  In a way we wished we'd gone to Hydropolis in Acharavi (only 10 mins away!!).  I was very ill on the coach and took a while to recover, but once I did...........you couldn't stop me on the slides!!  Is a really good park and the wave pool is fantastic.  We went on a Weds in June, wasn't busy at all.  Prices not too bad for food and lockers either.  So it is worth it, but check how long it will take you to get there.

Dolphin Restaurant - (Restaurants in Roda)

Lovely food!  I had the seafood platter & OH had the mixed meat platter €10 each, not bad for at least 4 of each.  On the beach aswell, so lovely views of the sunset!

Maggies Place - (Restaurants in Roda)

Ok the food was nice, but it basically is a Brewer's Fayre!!

Nikos Family Taverna - (Restaurants in Roda)

Stacey S

This was one of my favourite restaurants.  The food was gorgeous, although I was feeling a little ropey that day (after England match!!), that I wasn't very adventurous, but my partner tried their Lamb Kleftiko - this is lamb, baby onions, potatoes and other veg all cooked in greaseproof paper and then cut open to eat from.  Apparently it was amazing!!   The staff were really friendly

Odysseus Restaurant - (Restaurants in Roda)

Best meal of the entire holiday!!  We decided to try the Mezes - 12 dishes between the 2 of us - which doesn't sound a lot....but believe me we couldn't move afterwards!  Started with Greek Salad, Tzakiki, Hummus and Rice wrapped in Vine Leaves.  Next course was Beans, Calamari, Mousakka and something else (?), followed by Lamb chops, swordfish, Beef Stifado and a chicken dish.  To top it all off with caramel pudding and coffee.  Beautiful  The staff were really nice and took time to explain what every dish was.
