I have been to roda quite a few times now! i love it sooooo much. i have sooo many friends out there now....hi to you all!!! miss you all tho

my favourite restaurants are smileys (for chips n mayo with a choc milkshake), roda park and odyseus, and places to drink....druken sailor, mistral, british bulldog and smileys again!
If you get the chance, go to theos pool, oh my god, it has an amazing slide....wow
i dont have any negatives about roda...i think its amazing. If you get they chance aswell, go to corfu town...you go on a trip to kassiopi to catch a boat, then straight to corfu town to shop.
Can't wait to go back this year...its going to be amazing...never get board of the place or people.
Every1 is so friendly.

We stayed at the Aphrodite from the 28 August till the 11 September and thought it was a really nice hotel.

It is in a ideal location right in the middle of the resort, to both sides of the hotel there is restaurants, shops and bars.

The room was very clean, they came every day to clean the room and the towels were probably changed about five time in the two weeks.

The bar was really nice, it was really relaxing having a drink looking out to sea and across to Albania. The staff at the bar were very friendly.

The pool area was nice but we did not actually go to this pool, we went to a pool at the Panorama which was really nice.

The only downside was on our last night, there was a leak in the bathroom and there was water all over the floor. We went to reception to tell them and they were a bit rude about it and said as we were going home the next day there was not much they could do. This was fair enough but you would have thought that they would like to maintain their hotel?

Apart from that, we had a really nice holiday and would definately go back to this hotel and to Roda again.

We thought the Hotel was in a excellent location, there was some noise from the road, but not to much that you cant sleep, the only bad thing about the hotel was that it has Big Bens next to it, the bar causes more noise than any traffic.   The rooms were cleaned every day and we had no problems with our room, it is worth paying the extra as the views of Albania are stunning(see picture).  The breakfast provided was adequate and the extras were a fair price if you needed them.  The hotel pool is nice and clean and the bar is reasonable for snacks and drinks.   The beach at Roda is small but very nice, although it could do with being cleaned more regularly than what we seen we hired our sunbeds from a little old lady who sat next to the boat hire, she was very friendly and her sunbeds were the cheapest.  The resort of Roda was nice and quite when we where there (May2006), it is lovely but i hope it doesnt get any more english bars and restaurants then it already has, we prefered to eat greek and we found that it was easy to do so, prices for meals were very reasonable in most restaurants 28 euros (£20) for 2 courses each with wine was the normal price we paid   All in all we really enjoyed our stay in the Hotel, but get out and about if you can and see some more of Corfu

Well we have been to Roda and the Aphrodite and really enjoyed it. The staff were really nice and made you feel very welcome. The hotel is right on the road / seafront but we didn't really notice any noise. Okay you could hear the traffic going past when the balcony doors were open but wouldn't you find that anywhere. The hotel is very clean and the pool area too.

The resort itself is fantastic, could not fault it at all. It felt like it had never changed since the last time we went. It was great to go back into some of the resturants and bars and be recognised from the last time we were there. It made you feel really at home.

Would go back again this year if we could afford it.

Highly recommended

Hi Could you please let me know the following about the Aphrodite Hotel: 1. Do they have safety deposit boxes in the room? If so, is there and what is the charge for these? If they have not got them in the room, have they got them elsewhere? (i.e. when we stayed in Zante last year they had them in their shop) 2. Do the rooms have air conditioning? If so, what is the cost? Also, do they have fans to rent or is there anywhere local you could get a fan from? 3.Also, how did you cope without having a fridge in the room? I do not care about food as we always eat out but whenever I go on holiday I like to have a big bottle of cold water (and also like having cold wine!)

Holiday 15 August 2005.After all the hipe we found it rather dissapointing, after arriving at the hotel we asked could we possibly get a drink and was told yes and given a couple of bottles of water between 26 of us and given directions to the nearest night club at 3.00am with 9 children in tow. I know sometimes the facilities in greece can be poor but you would think drink making facilities in your room would be standard. Be warned if you book a family room you are on the top most floor of the hotel.  The electric sockets in our room hung off and sometimes fell off the wall, my daughter-in-law had her hairdryer blow up because the socket was not secured properly after mentioning it to reception no one came to repair it, if you are a party of three you will find that the third bed ( in a 2 bed room )is a camp bed with a one inch thick matress and blankets to lie on, as for the noise we were in a room directly about the sea view entrance there was no noise from the bar below but we did get motorbikes, and taxi's sounding there horns or loud exhausts throughout the night, the taxi drivers even spent the early hours cleaning there taxi's. we found the swimming pool very murky infact at one time it was like milk. as for being a hotel, one of our party was ill and we requested breakfast in the room (room service) and was told we could have it once but that was it and we had to get it ourselves. and the policy of the hotel is you cannot take your own food to your room. so be prepared to starve if you are  ill.   My wife and Granddaughter went for a meal in the Hotel restaurant and my Granddaugter wanted a plate of french fries after the fries did not arrive she went to the same waiter to complain he went to my wife and said next time ask the right person for the food, to which my wife said I did, it was you,  he called her a liar and said it was not him, considering there was only him and a girl serving he was the liar.   Families in our party of 26 had ground floor rooms with no view because of enormous palm trees outside their balconies and one had an abandoned icecream fridge covered in flies as well as the palm tree in front of theirs also the drains which stank.  The staff on the hole we found standoffish except for the lad who attended the pool bar and the cleaners. On the day we left we had to plead for a room and pay for it till 6pm for our cases even though these rooms were empty and then we had to wait in reception  (which is very small )till 11.30pm for the coach, with our cases so imagine 26 people plus other departees and cases left in the way of other guests and arrivals, I must say during the holiday we hardly got bitten by mozzies but I myself was bitten about seven time as was others while waiting to go home in reception, only the receptionist wished us and the other guests a safe journey home even though most of the staff were on duty.  We have always prided ourselves on how much we get along with greek people as we did at big bens and panorama and have quite a few greek friends on other islands so please don't think it was us.  on the bright side three places in roda I would recommend are the panorama restaurant bar and pool, (very nice people Costa, thenasis and liz.) Big Bens bar next to aphrodite, and Maggies Place for very large and very delicious meals ( Try the fish an be amazed at the size) suggest you go for the small fish before you try the large. please don't think we are fussy we have been going to the greek islands for years and found this the worst Accomodation considering we normally go self catering I don't think i will go back to Corfu again a pity as there are some very nice people their but not many most just want your money.  I think it will be Kalamaki in Zante this year 2006.

We originally had our holiday booked to stay at this hotel for the beginning of September but now we have had to change it to the last week Sept / first week Oct. Has anyone been to Roda in October, what is the weather like and is everything still open?

We have stayed at the Aphrodite Hotel several times over the years and have not been disturbed by traffic noise. The hotel is run by a pleasant local family who ensure that their guests are well looked after during their stay and we would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Hi We are staying at this Hotel in September 2006. I have noticed in quite a few comments that people have mentioned the road noise at night. I am a really light sleeper and am a little concerned about this, is it really that bad? Can anyone recommend a room number that is away from the road so I can request it through our tour operator?
