I totally disagree with other people i thought the service was great and the staff were lovely friendly people.  i also thought the rooms were clean and was well looked after by the staff.  We have been going now for 3 years and going back in a few days(  We will see if it is still well loked after)the greek night and quiz was a lot of fun and i would go and see it over and over again!  We were aloud a kettle in our room.

My husband and I stayed in Roda in September and although we did not stay here we ate here in the restaurant on several occasions, one of which was the weekly Greek night.  This was great, anyone who can get my husband up and dancing must have something special!!!  About the restaurant, the food was really delicious and the service excellent too.  Saw a fabulous sunset over the sea one night whilst eating dinner.  Reasonably priced, impeccable service.  Also have to comment on Nikos who worked in the bar/restaurant.  He was a very funny and friendly guy!!

I stayed at the Coral in August for a week. I have been to Corfu and Roda many times and although not stayed at this hotel before, I have had the use of itsbeach bar and restaurant. So I knew I was in for a treat!!

Probably the best bits of this hotel are the outdoor areas. The pool area is nice, the pool itself is clean.

The balcony had beautiful bright pink flowers draping over it, all the apartments look out towards the sea or the mountains and the lovely garden. The area arround the apartments was so clean and well kept. There is direct access to each apartment from outside, which is lovely.

The hotel has very light and airy and spacious. Such a wonderful change from hotels with dark corridors!

There are all the facilities you need to enjoy your stay. Snack bar by the pool - the food is simple and good, excellent value for money.

Restaurant with Greek food and very good quality. A little expensive compared to other restaurants in the area but at least what I ate there was fresh not like the food I had in a restaurant on the beach of Roda itself.

There is a bar which will stay open as long as you want to drink, 24 hour reception, safety deposit boxes, exchange and fans for hire. There is pool and some video games.

The rooms are basic but adequate. Most importantly they are clean. There is air conditioning .

The hotel is ideally located for the village centre, but in a very quiet area with a stunning view of the beach. You can use a little shortcut down a track at the front of the hotel, it's about a 5 minute stroll into the heart of the village.

I would definately recommend the Iris to anybody who is not too concerned with having a basic room, I think it's value for money that cant be beaten!!!Wink

the owner nikos is a gem along with his wife effie ,son dimitrius and nikos resturant manager.these people along with some new friends made this the best holiday ever.
we noticed when we were there ,that they had many regulars ,which we thought was great ,hopefully after years of travelling ,we have found our place and im sure we will be regulars ,too this special place

We stayed in the Coral Hotel in October 2004.  Roda itslef was a lovely, quiet and relaxed resort and we made many friends there.  However the staff and the owners of the hotel were an absolute nightmare.  We complained about the food on the first night and from then on, when not totally ignoring us, the staff were extremely hostile towards us.  There were numerous other guests who experienced this treatment, even elderly couples in their seventies and eighties.  Be aware of the waiter Nikos, he is very childish and goes in the huff if you are not totally captivated by him.  Also the staff and owners take umbrage if you don't go to their Greek Nights or anything else that they've got arranged for you to spend a fortune at.  The owner of the hotel is well known by other business owners in the area and is generally disliked.  I would recommend Roda, but definitely not the Coral Hotel.  If you do visit Roda be sure to go to Maggies in the Old Town.  Des and his wife, Maggie are very friendly and the food is great.

11/10/04 just returned from the coral hotel in roda corfu. Not very impressed at all.The rooms were very dirty indeed, even when cleaned. The breakfast was total rubbish, tea and coffee tasted realy bad,the breakfast cereal was of very poor quality,if you need a good breakfast go to the restarant Nikos in Roda itself.Nikos from the hotel was a total pain always on at you to come to the hotels BBQs GREEKNIGHT or quiz night most annoying. They dont like you to have your own kettle in your room, they go in the huff and dont speak to you. This hotel only want 30 to 40 year olds who will spend all thier time and money in the hotel. This is the worst service and accomadation we have ever stayed in and we have been to Corfu five times.

Catherine W

we stayed at the coral june 2004, thankgoodness it was only for one week. The bathroom was appalling could not see through the mirror for dirt, the apartment was grubby, there was no tea or coffee making facilities, you are supposed to buy all beverages from the hotel, we had to hide our kettle as the owner did not like us using his electricity and we had to sneak bottles of water passed the reception area. Other holiday makers were told off if caught with any liquid refreshments. The owner and his wife would make a good hitler substitute, the staff were not to blame as it must have been horrible to work for him. He is well talked about by other greeks in the resort and not well liked. We have been coming to roda for ten years now, unfortunately our usually accommadation was booked, it is the worst place in roda to stay and lets the people of roda down. If you happen to stay in the coral please add your comments there were at least 12 parties who felt the same as we did.
The resort its self is excellant for friendliness of the people, small enough to get to know them over your short stay. The sea is clean, the beach sometimes has seaweed but this is cleaned up every morning.

Sheena L

hello 2 geordie boy and julie, glad you enjoyed your 40th birthday and hope you have learned the cha cha slide by now.
Loved our hol at the coral would go back tomorrow. lovely relaxing holiday, met brill new friends, had great fun ,and the weather was brill.
Going back next year, but last 2 weeks in Sept and trying this time to not let nikos get to us.Brilliant guy, lots of fun, until you refuse to go to one of the organized nights in the hotel, then he goes in the huff. When you have 2 weeks there you can spread things out but 4 some reason he couldnt understand that. But didnt spoil our holiday and i would definately go back.PS Geordie boy i will get e-mail address and send you our photos of the birth party,Dimitri and family, gave you a birhday cake to die for, it was brill

Marc M

Thank you Nikos, Dimitris and all at the Coral for giving Emily and me the best holiday we could possibly ask for! Accommodation is good and location is ideal, although the people are the best part of all. If you are looking to meet good people who you will want to stay in touch with long after your week/fortnight here, then this is the place to stay. It's especially good for couples and families... quiet and relaxed enough for everyone to enjoy, but friendly and social enough to keep everyone occupied well into the evening (and night!). Look out especially for Nikos... is he Albanian, or is he Scottish? Nobody quite knows for sure but, either way, he is without doubt the best bar-tender in Europe and will guarantee you some unforgetable (albeit very hazy) late nights which you can always sleep off in the sun during the day. We will definitely be back here next year!

It was the first time we had been to Corfu. We really enjoyed it, Niko and Dimitris really made the holiday. The Hotel was clean and the rooms basic but comfortable, food excellent as well as the service. The booze flowed every night and they made my 40th birthday a night to remember, along with the friends we made while we where there. Looking forward to going back next year same time. Nikos does not suit the England top I gave him as much as I did. Seems strange seeing an Albainian in an England shirt but at least he is proud of it. Hope to see you all soon next year.

Just come home from Roda this morning. After reading all the reviews on the Coral hotel from here with all the high ratings we were quite disappointed once we got there, the room was very basic and to be honest more than a little grubby. The bathroom was especially bad, every day we had water all over and it was always black, no idea where it was coming from but it wasn't nice at all. We went B&B but only had the breakfast we'd paid for once, it wasn't up to much at all. The toasting machine just warmed your bread rather than actually toasting it, and the only other thing on offer was cereal - with warm milk. We prefered to walk down to one of the many cafes and restaurants nearby and get a decent breakfast instead. And the pool wasn't anything special either, we discovered one on the first day which is next door but one to the hotel called Danny's pool, free to use with lots of sunloungers and a pool bar, and a great selection of food. Having said that, the hotel is well sitauted, right on the beach, 5 mins from the centre of Roda and a short walk from Acharavi.

Leaving Coral Hotel on Monday 12th July, 2004, was very upsetting. I really wanted to stay there! It was so great, the staff were so friendly. Nikos, the Scottish Alba was very entertaining. I might only be 14, but I loved it. I am defo going back there, as it was a great holiday! I miss all the staff so much, but will see them soon.

Sheena T

We stayed at the coral for a week, the BBQ was great as Mary doll said, what that girl would do for a glimpse of a mans pom poms (blushes). The hotel was very clean ,very friendly, the bar was ok, but sold too much alcohol hehe.We met some great people ,and hope to stay friends with them for a long time. Nick ,Dimitri and nikos were great made you feel right at home. Dodgy accent though Nick....see you all same place next year... Sheena and Joe Taylor

Just returned this morning from my week at the coral. was there with donna - who has just posted. i must say - i wasnt sure about going to corfu at all -what with the toilet situation (nappy sacks work a treat for the bin), but i was suitably impressed. Although the hotel rooms were basic they were ideal really - and the staff were fantastic - especially Nikos and dimitri- they truely made the holiday. Nikos especially for donna - who had a bit of a fancy for him - and to tell u the truth so did i. U have to go to experience it for yourself - believe me u wont be dissapointed. what are u waiting for ?

Donna G

I have just come back from Roda today and must say this is a fantastic holiday. Accomodation was more basic than what spain etc is but the greeks have their reasons for this which is they strongly believe in hygiene. On arrival, ask for Nikos the Scottish barman, didnt know it was possible for a person to be greek with a scottish accent!! Area was very quiet, not very good if looking for a lot of action but personally thought it was fantastic and couldn't ask for nicer people in accomodation. Will def be going back!!

Mary M

We have just returned from the coral hotel and had a brilliant time there like Kathleen and Henry it was our first holiday without our kids and we really enjoyed it we met so many nice people and had a good laugh at the pool and in the bar at night the BBQ night was great as was the Greek night {nice pom poms ha ha] thanks to Nikos& Dimitrie for a great holiday and we will definatly be back next year Mary[marydoll]& Jimmy

Eileen L

We did not stay in this hotel ,wish we had as we were there every night. The staff were very good, never a dull moment. We look forward to going back there next year, wish it was next week

Kathleen D

I would like first of all to say thank you to all the staff at the Coral Hotel for making this holiday absolutely fantastic it was my husband and myself's first holiday abroad by ourselves (no kids)and boy did we enjoy. The hotel is very basic but very very clean the staff could not do enough for you especially Dimitrie and Nic they were brillant did not stop laughing for 1 week. I missed the football night (well done boys by the way you deserved that one) but my husband Henry said it was an amazing night.I would recommend this holiday and hotel to anyone. We are already enquiring about booking the whole family for next year. We also met some very good friends there.Again thanks boys for an amazing time. KATHY(GLASGOW SLAPPER haha) and HENRY

Karen D

MYSEL AND MY HUSBAND, OUR SIX YEAR OLD SON (THEN 4) ALL STAYED AT THE CORAL AND IT WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST HOLIDAY WE HAVE HAD.WE ARE BOTH IN OUR TWENTIES AND FOUND THE PLACE REALLY IN A GREAT LOCATION FOR EVERYTHING. THE POOL AREA WAS JUST THE RIGHT SIZE AND LAYOUT TO KEEP AN EYE ON OUR YOUNG SON. CLOSE BY YOU HAVE PLACES TO EAT WHICH CATER FOR CHILDREN TO GREAT EXTENTS. ALL IN ALL THE RESORT OF RODA IS IN AN IDILLLIC SETTING AND WHEN AT ONE OF THE MANY HIDDEN BEACHES YOU COULD BE MISTAKEN FOR BEING IN A CARRIBEAN ISLAND. EXELLENT FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS AND OF COURSE A TAN!

Helen

ÇELLO DIMITRI, THIS IS HELEN FROM THE ELIZABETH APARTMENTS
WISHING YOU A GOOD SUMMER KALO KALOKAIRI
