Hi All, just returned from Corfu and from staying in the Alkyon hotel for 2 weeks,. I would like to add my comment regarding the hotel. The hotel was absolutely wonderful, the staff are so friendly and will do anything to help. The food is excellent with about 5 choices for the starter and three choices for the main dish. If there is something in the starter that you would prefer for the main they will gladly give you a full meal of the starter. The breakfast is continental but quite adequate and for 2 euros you can have a full English which is very reasonable. The pool and pool area is the best around Sidari.
Just returned from Sidari, fabulous place and the weather is hot!!It did rain a coupleof days but made up for it the rest of the time.I stayed at the Alkion Hotel, spotless clean and the food was superb. The staff were all friendly except for one waiter who took it on board to follow me to the ladies toilet and made advances.!!However I soon put him right!!The incident didnt spoil my holiday, and I spent several nights in Cactus Jacks and met some really nice people.Do go and see Lady Jayne,a drag artist who is brilliant.Lots of shows up the famous strip and a variety of shops and bars. Will definately go back, missing Sidari already!!
im going to sidari on friday! so excited but worried bout the weather being rubbish...if anyone has been at this time or has just come back please ease my nerves! also iv heard it is smelly on the beaches is this also true?
i am interested in going to corfu with my 3 yr old son but am slightly worried that there could be lots of stray dogs roaming around, is that the case? i usually tend to go somewhere more busy like benidorm as they have no dogs roaming the streets. so could someone please put my mind to rest on this matter
Err oops I think I pressed the wrong button, I didn't mean to post "average", in fact I didn't mean to comment at all - just reply to Lee!! From what I have seen in this site and others with traveller comments, the Alkyon / Alkion in Sidari is very highly thought of, and many people go back year after year. I'll be there in a month!!!
Thanks for the info anout the Alkion Lee, much appreciated. I cannot wait to get there now!!
in reply to question about e-mail add for alkion hotel sidari ------email@example.com or www.sidarialkyon.com,my husband and i have just come back from the hotel we would well recomend this hotel,,there is a ramp upto reception and 6 reception floor level hotel bedrooms, the restarant pool, bar are all on reception floor level.good luck i hope this information is of help to you.
i am going to the Alkyon hotel in september with my boyfriend looking at all these comments it seems really nice, i cant wait to go.
Stayed at the alkion hotel May 2004 and are going back October 2006 ( cant wait) The staff are fantastic and the food fab, even though I have two very fussy eaters Andrea made sure they were fed properly every evening. The waiters always have a smile on their faces and entertained us with fantastic greek dancing. A trip to aqualand is a must and will be enjoyed by all of the family. The whole family cant wait for October half term. We visted hotel bel air in Tunisia last year and so wished we were at the Alkion instead!!
I have been visiting Sidari for over 9 years now and whilst i stayed in the Alkyon for the first two years, the quality and quantity of the food makes it impossible for me to go there on the half board basis that it offers. i would come home unable to fit into any of my clothes!! i tend to go self catering now as i prefer to try different restaurants, but always make a point of returning to the Alkyon for a couple of superb meals, for the evening entertainment and for the well tended pool. Also the staff are some of the friendliest ion Sidari.
nice hotel nice staff nice place, just really nice. not a bad word to say bout any of it. its close enough to be able to walk to the bars but far enough away to be quiet. the staff cant do enough for you and the food is amazing. i reccomend the greek meatballs. but anything you try will be nice im sure. a nice pool and very clean. rooms big and airy good for those long hot days. all in all i cant fault the time i had here and it was made better by the amazin staff and pucker hotel we were in
As you have here what Alison has said it is true as I have been going to the Alkion Hotel now for fifteen years and this year will be my sixteenth year. The ztaff are so friendly and helpfull and there will try to make your holiday as good as they can.
this is the most friendly hotel my
parents first took my son three years ago and now they stay at joylife
(due to illness) and when ever we go they all come and greet us even
the owners.nothing is too much trouble my son was badly burnt one year
and when i asked if we could take his meal to the room they soon got a
tray and took the meal to him,if you book this hotel you wont be
