sept 06. We found the polixenia appartments quite adequate for the price that we paid. The cleaning was regular, rooms large, bathrooms ok, decor ok. Staff were very friendly and willing to help. the pool was a good size and safe for kids, poolside snacks were satisfactory. the apartments were situated in the quieter part of town, 10 min walk from the bars and restaurants. also 10ish mins away is the best cove in the area with excellent swimming . overall we had a very good holiday experience at polyxenia. | ||||||||||

These apartments are lovely. They have all just been modified last year. The family there are all very nice and will do anything to help you. The food is fantastic and very cheap. There is air conditioning, and the maids come everyday to change towels, clean, mop floors etc.
I cant undersatnd how anyone can say that this place is not welcoming. All the people that were there the same time as us all thought the same, and we all fell in love with the place, and its not much of a walk to the beach........
All in all Polyexiena is a lovely place to stay.....very welcoming and our holiday was full of many laugh's with this family. Will certainly be returning.

Stayed at the Polixenia Apartments for two weeks in June 2004. There are two seperate blocks of apartments, the newer block that friends of ours stayed in were perfectly OK but the older block, that we were unfortunately allocated, were nothing short of disgusting. Toilet/bathroom flooding daily, toilet seat missing, roof leaking into bedroom, dirty, rotting worktops with mouldy wood falling onto crockery, filthy patio furniture, rusty cooker... I could go on but in short it was, by a long way, the worst apartment I've stayed at in 25 years of Mediterranean holidays. My wife and I would only use the apartment to sleep in and get changed in.
We weren't alone in being unhappy, each other family that we spoke to in that block also complained to the Libra Holidays rep.
One of the most disappointing things was that Libra Holidays seemed to accept no responsibility for the state of the place.
If you manage to get one of the newer apartments I'm sure you would have a fine holiday as the pool, bar area and resort as a whole are excellent but our apartment spoilt what was otherwise a nice holiday.

| we got back from a week in these apartments on 28th sept, the family that run the place aren't very friendly, i got the feeling they were looking forward to the end of the season! I was impressed by the size of the 1 bedroom apt we were allocated but the bedsheets were not changed and the towels only once in the week! (nice) There was a bad thunderstorm one night and a towel blew off the balcony - I was not allowed another and had to use my beachtowel for the last two days, i think they thought i'd nicked theirs (as if - why would i want to!) The pool is nice and the pool bar is good for snacks (if you have enough patience after being ignored at the bar for 10 minutes) Location wise, Id say this is probably further away from sidari and the centre of town than anywhere else, its walkable but after a few days it gets a bit tedious! I would recommend christos apts as they are right next to the beach, canal d'amour and the main road to sidari town. apart from that i had a great time and would defo recommend sidari, especially canal d'amour area. I will go back but not to these apartments. | ||||||||||

| We have just returned after a weeks stay and thought the apartments were poor. The location itself is poor as you have to walk a good 20 mins before you get to the main beach. The cleaners only came in to clean twice and we had the same bed sheets on all week! The so called polite family were not that polite and as for the noise it was like some people were having all night parties all week!We had a night flight so with all apartments you have to leave the room at twelve or pay a little extra to keep it but come on twenty euros for six hours!!! WHAT A RIP OFF My advise if anybody who is going DONT GO STAY AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | ||||||||||

| We are thinking of staying at the Polixenia July 04. Can anyone tell me how far (walking distance) the accomodation is to the centre of the resort (Sidari). Would also like to know if the Karina Apts are still there. Location just off main road behind Paradise Bar/Apts (think thats what they were called). If they are which tour operator or if they have changed name? Thanks | |
