Anna Studios - (Accommodation in Arillas)

Jude B

We have just returned from a holiday which we booked at the last minute on
the internet, having never been to Corfu before, but needing a quiet last
minute break. We normally travel independantly, not as a package, and have
not stayed in apartments like this before either.

We were pleasantly surprised by the apartments, which are spacious and
clean. We did have problems with the loo though. The sewer pipe leaked
water after it was flushed - not a lot but a small puddle round the base of the
loo appeared afterwards. At first we thought it was the aftermath of showers,
then realised it wasnt!

We reported it to the owners son, who said he would fix it and that evening all
was dry when we came back from the beach. However, problem was still
there after loo flushed.

We reported it again to Kostas the next day, and he arranged for a plumber to
come. We were there when the plumber came, and to be honest it was very
difficult to find the fault - he squished sealent everywhere he could think of.
The next day it was STILL leaking, but as we only had a day left we gave up
and put half a plastic water bottle under it to catch drips - which mostly
worked. We could have persevered with complaints, but it seemed to be
clean water following the force of the flush, and greek plumbing isn't the best,
despite these being a newish build.

We did hire a fan from Anna, so no problems there. We were very anti-social
really, as we are not people who sit round a pool - much prefer the beach
which was great. We also prefer to eat out in the tavernas, and following that,
as the Olympics were on, we sat in the hotel opposite where Annas husband
has his car hire business, and watched on their big screen tv and had a drink
there. Yes Kostas saw us in there too! We only bought a drink at Annas once,
at the welcome meeting.

We only wanted to use Annas as a base to do our own thing and chill out. It
was perfect for this. Anna and her family always smiled and said hello every
time we passed through so to speak, despite our only hiring a fan and buying
1 drink each all week, so we certainly didn't experience any problems such as
those mentioned elsewhere on this website. The family seemed very friendly
when we spoke to them, and helpful.

Apart from the niggle about the loo - which they did do their best to address -
we had a wonderful time in Arrilas, it was much nicer there than we were
expecting. We both feel totally relaxed now, despite having gone back to
work - wish we could have made it a fortnight, but no time unforntunately. We
would definitely go back again

Arillas - (Resorts on Corfu)

Booked to go to Arillas on the internet as a last minute bargain, having never
been to Corfu before. Arillas was perfect, the most relaxing holiday I think I
have ever had! The village is charming with ample little shops and plenty of
Tavernas. Despite being the end of August, it wasn't that busy. The beach is
perfect, beautiful crystal clear water and golden sand - with plenty of places to
sit with/without sunloungers or umbrellas. The local people were friendly and
laid-back - usually recognising and greeting you if they saw you a couple of
times. There are plenty of bars open late, but if you are a 'serious clubber' or
want McDonalds/English Pubs this is definitely NOT the place for you. If you
want a holiday where you can really chill out, Arillas is heaven!!!!!
