Dina Apartments - (Accommodation in Agios Gordios)

Good basic accomodation for a fortnight in the sun. The rooms were very clean and all you need for a self catering break. Good location. Although on the main street, noise was not a problem. Only problem - don't hire a car because there is nowhere to park nearby and the street is narrow and very busy during the day.

Agios Gordios - (Resorts on Corfu)

Went to Agios Gordios as a family with three kids of 10, 12 and 14 and we stayed at the Dina Apartments. They were basic but spotlessly clean and fine for a two week break. The place itself is a small bay with only one real street leading down to the beach. It is lined with several shops and there are lots of restaurants here and along the beach. Nightlife is mainly eating out and a bit of shopping. Therefore it is a good place for couples and families with younger kids. Not much to do for older teens and young adults. For eating out, we found Lithos the best value and good sized portions. Delphi is also good, as is the Chinese.

The beach is really good but the sea was very rough during our first week there. I wouldn't have let little kids near it. However there are a few pools open to the public as long as you buy snacks and drinks from their snack bars. We spent most days at Alex in the Park's pool - nice pool and quiet.

We made the mistake of arranging car hire before we went. There is no parking at the Dina Apartments and the main street is a narrow congested nightmare for much of the day. There is a car park but it is little more than a small bit of waste ground accessed by a very narrow windy "road". This also gets very busy during the day. Probably better to hire a car when you get there if there is parking at your accomodation. They also drive like nutters, particularly on scooters.

Nevertheless it is a really nice place for a relaxing break in the sun.
