Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

Lou W

We had a fantastic holiday in Sidari a couple of years ago and our apartment was set back from the rest, which made it nice an quite for us!

We've going again the Friday (2nd July 2004) and staying at the "Haroula Apartments!"

If anybody has any comments (good or bad) please let me know.

Many Thanks

Lou

just come back from sidari after staying in the "haroula" apartments!
if anybody is staying there, then you shouldn't have any complaints. the only complaint people might have is that it's situated about a mile out of town, we hired bikes from "pink panther" but you might want to try the guy at the end of the road, got brand new mountain bikes in, costs around 30 euros to hire for a week! it's family run, the guys are great, it's exceptionally clean, met some great couples there (hi rob & rachael, sadie & paul, martin & jo.
best places to eat are "mythos" situated at the far end of town, fantastic service, good value for money and the guys (3 brothers) are great fun!. sea breeze another restaurant with not quite the same standards but still very good!
most of the bars and restaurants cater for children in one way or another.
the water park is great for children, it's sup**vised, couple of slides but other than that.....not alot.
we took a taxi to "arilas beach" cost 24 euros there and back, the taxi service is nothing like in britain, when they say there gonna be there they are, pick you up when you want, drop you off when you want!
the beach and sea at arilas was unbelieveable, slighty stoney and then as you go out you can see (hire a pedallo)25 to 30 meters deep, it's that clear!!! (no i'm not joking).
st georges bay is supposed to very good aswell!
we went in 2002 and this year gonna go back in 2006 but hire scooters, it has got a little more commerclised since we were last here but we had a fab time, sun, sea, sand, food, scenery etc!!!
if you want to buy any watches, rings etc go to "midas" they don't rip you off and are very friendly.
one last thing....don't book any tours through your rep (this is where you get ripped off big time, they will tell you different) go into town and book from there, you are still fully covered insurance wise and it's half the price you would pay through your rep!!!!
if anybody has taken the time to read this.....thank you and enjoy your holiday!! p.s doesn't hurt to try and speak the lingo!!!

Hi Dave,
Thankyou for agreeing on the "reps rip you off"!
Very sorry to hear about what happened to you regarding your trip!

I didn't feel I had to explain (as I'd typed so much anyway, but thankyou for taking the time to read what I wrote!) the in's and out's of booking with other companys ie: checking for insurance/certificates etc, most people would ask anyway!
