Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

Just got back from Sidari and it really is a great place to visit.  I wandered the streets on a regular basis looking for a place to eat of a evening and was inundated with proposals of a decent meal from the proprietors of various establishments all of which provided an adequae service which was so sublime my posh liitle balls felt like exploding with love for the island of Corfu.  After dinner I went disco dancin at a different place each night.  One particular place I chose to throw some shapes was 'Cockhoppers'. Although this placed seemed to be more male dominated than most they seemed freindly enough in their cowboy and sailor outfits and to be honest they kept buying me drinks.  This place also had a chillout area with beds and various sensual oils to help you relax after a hard night dancing to Frankie Goes To Hollywood (felt like this was on repeat).  The beaches were ok but smelt of human excreament in some isolated areas.  I preffered to use the private pool at our apartment but for the poorer families who cant afford to stay at a place with a pool I suggest buying a lilo to make swimming around any floaters in the sea that bit easier.

I would give this holiday a 9/10 because I enjoyed it so much and I would definately go back there.

Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

i decided on a trip to corfu after seeing an article in the times gaurdian which featured busty young maidens wallowing about in skimpy bikinis on a sun soaked beach.  this was the holiday i had been looking for since the day i got it massively wrong and decided to spend a summer in bognor painting seashells which were to be sold on a stall just off of the south pier.  on arrival at the 'cocsillious apartments' i dropped my bags and headed into town looking for a nice pint of greeces finest beer.  i ordered what looked like a popular drink with the locals named efes, and after waiting a minute or two for it to pour i put the chilled jug to my mouth to be met with the distinct smell of rotten eggs.  fox p**s i can stand but this was a step too far. i got my bags from the apartments and went to the airport where i got a flight striaght back home.

anyone else experienced this?

Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

I will be going to Corfu on Junly 15th and I will be staying in Sidari, I am really looking forward to it.  I have heard that there are many things to do in Sidari including an evening of plate smashin at a traditional restuarant.  I have a few fears on the health and safety grounds of this practice and was wondering what precautions if any I should take if I do decide to participate in the ancient ritual of the greeks.  Im not against the values of the traditional cutlery facade but this does seem to give the impression that the Greeks can be quite violent and may, once in full ceremonial flow, get carried away and accidently injure someone.  I was thinking of wearing a hat of the panama type so as I could stuff the crown of the hat with a soft like material such as polystyrene which would cusion a blow from the top and the wide brim of the hat would offer sufficient clearway to deflect any small glass debris from entering the eye area.  Failing to come up with a solution would mean I may have to miss the evening all together and therefore never experience the Greek custom of the crockery breaking fury fest.

Any suggestions on the matter would be greatly appreciated.  choppergray@mailinator.com
