Anna Studios

Accommodation in Arillas

Ya sou

Does anybody have the link to Anna's website or her email address. I had it before I went on holiday, but since I came back yesterday I can't find it anywhere.

Help!?

Andrea&gary

Anna Studios was a really excellent place to stay and Anna was wonderful. Arillas itself is one of the loveliest places we have ever been to and we will definitely be back hopefully in May of next year.

Ya sou Anna! Can't believe we are back home, we miss you and Arillas already! See you in May hopefully. Take care and enjoy the winter break.

We have just returned from a holiday which we booked at the last minute on
the internet, having never been to Corfu before, but needing a quiet last
minute break. We normally travel independantly, not as a package, and have
not stayed in apartments like this before either.

We were pleasantly surprised by the apartments, which are spacious and
clean. We did have problems with the loo though. The sewer pipe leaked
water after it was flushed - not a lot but a small puddle round the base of the
loo appeared afterwards. At first we thought it was the aftermath of showers,
then realised it wasnt!

We reported it to the owners son, who said he would fix it and that evening all
was dry when we came back from the beach. However, problem was still
there after loo flushed.

We reported it again to Kostas the next day, and he arranged for a plumber to
come. We were there when the plumber came, and to be honest it was very
difficult to find the fault - he squished sealent everywhere he could think of.
The next day it was STILL leaking, but as we only had a day left we gave up
and put half a plastic water bottle under it to catch drips - which mostly
worked. We could have persevered with complaints, but it seemed to be
clean water following the force of the flush, and greek plumbing isn't the best,
despite these being a newish build.

We did hire a fan from Anna, so no problems there. We were very anti-social
really, as we are not people who sit round a pool - much prefer the beach
which was great. We also prefer to eat out in the tavernas, and following that,
as the Olympics were on, we sat in the hotel opposite where Annas husband
has his car hire business, and watched on their big screen tv and had a drink
there. Yes Kostas saw us in there too! We only bought a drink at Annas once,
at the welcome meeting.

We only wanted to use Annas as a base to do our own thing and chill out. It
was perfect for this. Anna and her family always smiled and said hello every
time we passed through so to speak, despite our only hiring a fan and buying
1 drink each all week, so we certainly didn't experience any problems such as
those mentioned elsewhere on this website. The family seemed very friendly
when we spoke to them, and helpful.

Apart from the niggle about the loo - which they did do their best to address -
we had a wonderful time in Arrilas, it was much nicer there than we were
expecting. We both feel totally relaxed now, despite having gone back to
work - wish we could have made it a fortnight, but no time unforntunately. We
would definitely go back again

no problem's.

it was the first description that came to mind, i have to admit, simply because we saw no more than one smile the whole time we were there !

maybe she was just having a stressful time of it !!

the studios themselves were fine. a word of warning tho, don't rent a fan elsewhere, rent it from anna !!

; )

Marie G

Hi Rod,
you are right, these sites are for this reason and you are right everyone is free to say what they want - so we all have!

however i do think you went a little far by saying that Anna had a face like a s****** a***, but a least you have admitted that your comments were offensive "i get why your defensive, my comments were definately offensive" so you obviously new that you would probably get replys like you did from someone like me who is friends with the family.

to end all of this on a friendly note, you didnt like it, dont go back that is all that you can do about it, but please dont write things like "avoid these studios" because they are clean, spacious and some of the best apartments you will find they just didnt suit you.

.Marie.

and the last thing i have to say on the matter....

we tried to be nice to start with. happily paid 20 euro for electricity. i have no doubt that we were as nice as possible about it all. the rep did say that she'd had some problems with anna previously tho, and she spoke to her to explain that we hadn't known to rent a fan from there as we'd arrived at 3 in the morning and the rep hadn't mentioned it. a sign in your apartment would help things !

even on leaving there was absolutely no attempt to say goodbye. but that time tho, we weren't that bothered. we'd had a nice holiday anyway, having found a much better/bigger/cleaner pool by the beach, with friendly service and better prices.

to those of you who said your due to go out soon, i hope you enjoy yourself. i do not have a problem with any of you disagreeing with my comments, we are all free to say what we want. but i would ask (nicely) that you respect our comments please, as not everyone is going to share the same experience.

"I would advise you before making such strong complaints that you would make sure you know what are you talking about.
As you said you visited the bar 2 times in 2 weeks obviously you dont't know the family at all, therefore have no right to coment on the frienliness of them."

I think I do. It was MY holiday after all. Don't you think YOUR the one that doesn't know what your talking about, as I don't seem to recall you being with us....(!)

"you mentioned Anna was angry because you didn't shop at her husbands super market" no, she was like that because we didn't rent a fan from her.

"i think if you would of had a few drinks at annas bar, you would not be making comments like that " "i think you did not make much of an effort going to the bar 2times in 2weeks" we did try, but theres only so much of the cold shoulder I can take !!! we barely got a smile the whole time from any of them, not the sort of welcome i want if i'm going to sit and drink there !

"like chris phillips has said you dont know the family so DONT judge them im sure you would not like people slagging you off on the net."

i get why your defensive, my comments were definately offensive, but if you spend a grand on a holiday you like to be treated nicely. not disliked over the rental of a fan. if someone had spoken to your partner in the way anna did mine, i don't think any of you would be that happy either. at the end of the day, only myself and my partner can really judge our own holiday. that's the whole point of having sites like this one, giving us all the freedom to comment on our OWN holidays. you liked them, we didn't. i have written to sky holidays as i do not believe these studios to be up to their usual standard. that's my decision. i wouldn't do it just for the sake of it, if your dissatisfied with a service you have the right to comment.

and i do accept the comments about the toilet roll. i was aware from other holidays in greece so it wasn't a great problem, but yet again it was the manner in which the reply was when we asked for more that bothered us more.

everyones entitled to their own opinions. if you enjoy going here that's fine. but i do think it's worth me pointing out that our experience wasn't the same. and i was very hopeful after reading all your comments beforehand. before any of your replies tho, i did get an email from someone who agreed that "anna isn't the be all and end all of arillas" or something along those lines.

Marie G

i have to reply to ROD LAWs comment, im pretty sure that what you experienced was all make believe in your head and that you must of thought that the family was giving you the cold shoulder because knowing them none of them have a bad bone in their bady!! next year will be our forth year and i wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else and i deffinatly will still be returning here year after year!!!

i think you have got it into your head that all they wanted was your money as nearlly every line in your comment you have put something about money!!!
at the BBQ i think you will find that they wait to give you the rest of your food so you do not feel rushed to eat it, you would probably complain if they gave it to you all at once!!!

now lets get onto the toilet roll comment you made, you have gone self catering this means buying everything yourself even toilet roll it dont exactly cost much to buy does it.

Anna and the rest of her family have always been friendly, kind, helpful and great fun, i think you did not make much of an effort going to the bar 2times in 2weeks, thats not making an effort!!

like chris phillips has said you dont know the family so DONT judge them im sure you would not like people slagging you off on the net.

i consider these people as my friends and i dont like to read people writing nasty things about them, im sure you wouldnt like it if some wrote nasty about your friend!!

Sue L

well i was so shocked to read what rod had put.
i have been twice now to annas studios and im going again in july 05(3rd time it will be).
i think if you would of had a few drinks at annas bar, you would not be making comments like that .
anna is such a fantastic person and her husband costas and not forgetting her 2 sons.i will be going back year after year.

Hate is probably too strong a word, but havig just got back from 2 weeks at the Anna Studios my partner and I feel we should offer our comments.

To cut a very long story short, we arrived at 3 in the morning our rep letting us in to the room. In the morning we went to the nearest shop to get some supplies, and while we were there we picked up a fan.

Later on that day we were informed that we should have rented one from the studios, and that we would have to pay for electricity. Not something I expected, but we didn't have a problem with that.

We went to speak to Anna (who is supposed to be lovely, according to most reviews of the place) and we were very nice about it, saying we didn't mind paying. While I went back to get the 20 euro (a bit steep if you ask me....), Anna had a go at my partner, saying we should have rented a fan from her. My partner explained that we didn't know that was the case as we had come in early in the morning. Apparently tho, we should have asked Anna before going to a supermarket. The fact was, as we pointed out, there were no signs to tell us we should rent from them (in fact, there was one, but i didn't even notice it until the last day when we checked leaving times !!), and we'd arrived at 3 in the morning so hadn't met anyone who would have told us. She was also very miffed at the fact we had gone to the supermarket we went to. Apparently he overcharges, which is a fair enough reason, but then we also realised it was because the one she suggested was owned by her husband !

We didn't kick up a stink, in fact my girlfriend was very nice about it all. But she wasn't very pleased with having this woman tell her off about 2 hours in to our holiday.

We left it at that, and tried to be friendly. But after about 2 days of them giving us the cold shoulder, we gave up bothering. The woman had a face like a slapped a*** ! I don't think I saw her smile once in the whole 2 weeks.

After this we basically ignored them for the rest of the holiday. We never used to bar or the pool, as we found one next to the beach that was miles better. It was called the Marinki, turn right when you reach the beach. The biggest pool in corfu, fresh water, and hardly ever anyone there. The young guy that runs it is SO friendly, we went back that nearly every day. Cheap drink and food, and they've even got some appartments there, although you would have to book direct.

Anyway. Back to the nightmare that was Anna. I got the feeling that she gave us the cold shoulder because we weren't lining her pockets with cash. The fact I'd spent over 800 getting there didn't seem to count for much !

We went to a bbq they did to try and be nice and show we had no problems with them. for 15 euro each we got some pretty nice food, a free drink, and some fruit salad. Not too back, but they waited to give you the rest in the hope you'd spend money at the bar. And in the whole 2 weeks we didn't once spend that amount of money at an actual restaraunt. That's a proper meal, much more wine, and bread etc.

So to some it up. If your a family, and plan to spend quite a bit of time at the place you stay, then Anna will probably be very nice to you. If your a couple who prefer to explore, then don't expect a very friendly service.

A word of warning. We had one toilet roll for the WHOLE 2 weeks, not even one a week ! And our toilet broke after a week, and they still hadn't (on purpose I suspect) fixed it by the time we left.

We didn't even say goodbye when we left, and they made no effort to be nice. All this because we rented a fan elsewhere !!! Imo they are only in it for the money, and will be as nice as pie if you spend money which goes in to their pocket. We went elsewhere, had a much better service, and spent a lot less in the process.

I would like to point out, Arilas is a beautiful place and well worth visiting. Just please avoid this studio. And for those that go back each year, I'd highly recommend you go down to the Marinaki and check it out. I assure you you will start returning to that place instead of Annas. The guy there couldn't have been any nicer. And your 10 seconds away from the beach.

Never before have I been so pleased to leave the place we have stayed on holiday !! Not Arillas, but Anna and her awful manners !!

Sue L

We have just returned after a week at Anna Studios and can only agree with all the good comments we read before our departure. Arillas is a great resort for couples and Annas Studios were much better than we had expected. Anna and Costas go out of their way to make your holiday special and we looked forward to our nightly Metaxa at their bar on our return from dinner. We walked to 2 other beaches Aghios Stephanos (30 mins) and Aghios Georgios (1.5 hours). Aghios Georgios is beautiful and it is worth stopping in Afionas on the way for a drink in the Panorama restaurant and to view the village. We would certainly go back again - preferably tomorrow!

Hi, my family and I have just got back from Anna Studios last week.
Arillas and Anna studios are a must if you want a genuine friendly place with high standards in accomodation and service.
Anna and Kostas were excellent and made us feel part of their family especially the children. Arillas is small and uncommercialised but still has a good number of bars for the teenagers to have fun.
We ate at most of the tavernas over our 2 weeks and received excellent choice ,high quality food and service, especially at Thallasa ,which is owned by Giannis and Litsa. I have a 14 and 11 year old and they loved it. Annas studios and pool were spotless and well maintained by Kostas, Anna and their staff. I will be booking it again next year as the area, people and food certainly provided me with a relaxing holiday for my family. Check it out you wont be dissappointed unless you want mad wild nights, but you can get that in Sidari 15mins away by taxi. Regards Vince O'Brien

stayed at the anna studios from 26th may03 till 9th june 03.
we had a fantastic time.the studios where massive and they where like a 5 star accomidation. the only thing i didnt like was the hill going up to annas studios. but i will be back end of may 04.
see you soon anna and costos.

Yes, these apartments are only a couple of weeks old, and one of the best in Arillas. The pool is also new and maintained by a chap that never stops working. Arillas is a really friendly, relaxing place for a holiday. There a 3 or 4 bars which play music at night which look impressive with all modern comforts etc. This doesn't distract from the peaceful and relaxed feel though, but does offer that little extra when you fancy something more upbeat. Anna Studios were a great place to stay, but the only point I would make is that it is situated uphill from the centre, so be prepared with that bottle of cold water for when you reach the top. Overall, I was very impressed with Arillas and Corfu. It is a clean, lush island that has far more in terms of nature/history/culture going for it than most other greek islands. Arillas is north-west of the island, which is very scenic.

This is a lovely location, just think, this time next year, i'll be on that plane coming back again. The nearby shops sold lots of Rolla Cola and tonnes of cadburys fingrez. A piece of advice if your going to stay here, take some coffee-mate with you. Clever me, if your stuck - come and see your dad... ...Now lets have a look at these snaps - noooo, yer not seeing these, oh getaway, bstrd!
