Strange,Bizarre,Odd, sums it all up really along with the food?Proprietor needs to make some changes and get back some of the old Lekas charm. Was one of the most busy places in kassiopi, but things are not great now for us to visit anyway.

the lekkas family taverna kassiopi has very tasty traditional greek food  and is found in the charming small fishing village of kassiopi .we stayed at the picturess andreas pool apartments.on the main road oppisite the lekkas family taverna & bar ,of which i would like to share my photos.we have been going to kassiopi for 19 years now.and on visiting the lekkas family.mike the fisherman and an old friend of mikes named gareth evans in the winter months decided to write a book about mikes life as a fisherman, mike told the stories and gareth listened and started writing down the stories mike had to tell.in short mike lives at the lekkas and is a retired fisherman, and the authour gareth evans, first visited kassiopi as a tourist, and since the mid ninties works in the summer as a portrait artist and for 5 years had a holiday company.   Gareth now lives in kassiopi .and has a wonderful collection of stories past and present to relate from the life of mike the fisherman and many other chacters from corfu we got  a copy of the book from the lekkas on your visit and the are making a sequal to mike the fisherman of which i hope they have finished by the time i return.

click to enlargeIf you want to visit a typical Greek family run taverna where you can meet some locals this is the place for you. You will always be given a warm welcome and so what if the service isn't express, this is Greece all the more time to wind down and enjoy a drink. I reccomend the Sea Bream caught that morning, best fish I,ve tasted in a long while. Greek night with dancing and plate smashing held at least once a week.

i found this place very un-hygenic! when we had a full english breakfast we were constantly harrassed by wasps and flies! which the owner found amusing and we were appauld! when we finally got our breakfast it was cold and the eggs were not even cooked properly! also the owner ogled at us throughout our meal!

so if you enjoy cold uncooked food an being swarmed by wasps and flies this is the the place to go!!!!!!
