Sidari - (Resorts on Corfu)

Diane B

Hello,
Me and my fella are flying out on the 01/09/03 to spend 2 weeks at Tereza's pool apartments. I have loads of questions, firstly how busy is the pool area likely to be as I have been spoilt the past 2 years in Turkey and Zante by having the pool nearly all to our selves. Not that I am a miserable git or anything, but I do like to know that after a heavy night on the cocktails I can stay in bed till 11:00 if I so wished and know that I would still get a sunbed (ie do I need to set the alarm for 7:00 and go out and put the towels out. Secondly whats the night life like, I like a variety, but I like it when after a few visits the waiters know your name and what you want. Also I am a huge fan of cheesy pop from 60s to present day, are the bars more that way rather than hardcore dance?

My last question is how much are we talking for a three course meal for two complete with a kilo or 2 of the house wine? also how much are beers/cocktails in general (can I have these prices in pounds please not euros)

I am very excited about the holiday, and have read a lot of the comments on this site, it does sound lovely.

Any info much appreciated

Cheers

Terezas Hotel - (Accommodation in Sidari)

Diane B

Hey guys, myself and my fella stayed at Terezas pool for the first 2 weeks in Sept 2003. Apartments and grounds very very clean, always plenty of sunbeds etc. to get to the main, decent bars, restaurants etc it is about 15 mins gentle strolling. This would be quite good, but the apartments are on the main road into town and at times this can be a bit like walking up the M62, especially as the only bit of footpath isn't particulary long (runs along the beach). Don't let this put you of though, it is quite it'sjust that the roads are so narrow, you can't really walk arm in arm. Bars good in september it was fairly quite mainly couples, not many gangs of lads or lasses. best restaurant by far was cactus jacks, also good was buddy's and an indian opposite Buddys nearly whos name escapes me.

However I have to say the weather in September last year and from what I can gather the year before as well is complete pants. We lost about 5 days to storms. And definately you need a jacket for night. walking home at 3:00am in the pouring rain when the town has had a complete power failure is not the warmest of things to do, even with a large quantity of cocktails down your neck the old beer coat does not kick in.

However from speaking to people last year I think Terezas is definately the cream of the crop.

Enjoy your stay.

Cactus Jacks - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Diane B  (09 April 2004)

By far the best restaurant in Sidari, could not fault it. Prices a little bit more than anywhere else but this is definately justified by not just the quanity of the food (easily twice as much as we were served in some restaurants) but the actual quality of the food as well. You could tell that this was decent ingredients.

Again I agree about people eating late, we never eat on holiday till about 8:30-9:30 and even in england I would never dream of expecting a restaurant to serve me after 10:30-11:00 unless it was a late night curry house or kebab/pizza place.

Again another idiotic minority who give Brits abroad such a bad name, and unfortunately tar the rest of us with the same brush.

As for the staff drinking after hours, so what? you go into any bar/restauarant in the uk after closing you can bet your bottom dollar that the staff will have after hours drinks etc now and again if not all the time.

To all at cactus Jacks, a big thank you for making our hols, only trouble now is finding a mexican back home that lives up to your standards (in the 7 months, back home, no one has come close)

Kohenoor Restaurant - (Restaurants in Sidari)

I am a curry Queen, and this place was fab. Service excellent and the food superb, huge portions and always delious with leads of meat in the dish. Maybe slightly more expensive than the avarage restaurant bit at the end of the day you get what you pay for.
We ate here 4 times in 2 weeks.

Definately worth the long walk from Terezas pool, apts anyway

If you go to Sidari and love your curry, then you would be mad to miss this place.

enjoy

Very nice bar, especially if you like R n B. Does play other stuff but a lot of Rn B.

Good cocktails and breakdfast there in the morning was yummy.
