Lord Complex - (Accommodation in St George Sth)

Apalling is the word that springs to mind. Went with four mates on the promise that the resort was a bit lively and not far from the bright lights of Kavos. In fact, St George is deader than a Dodo, and an hour in a taxi from Kavos. Had a good wander round the town in the 4 hours before we managed to get transferred to Kavos, and I really wasn't impressed. I think the people who write reviews on here have never been on holiday anywhere else because I've been to far, far nicer places with my family. The beach at St George is APPALING. There's only one sandy beach and it's only about 200 yards long. And that's it - the rest is all rocks. Go to the Costa Del Sol if you want a nice beach holiday. Apart from the terrible beach there's not a lot to do apart from laze by the pool. Which is tiny. Might be OK for very young kids, but it's nowhere near big enough to swim in. The grounds were grotty too - dog crap everywhere and pretty badly maintained. The room was sub-standard. We had a 2 bedroom 'apartment'. This comprised of two bedrooms with ceiling fans, and the worst bathroom in the world - the bath was too small to sit in but too low to stand in and the whole place was pretty grubby. Working lightbulbs were a rare treat. Other than your beds there was nowhere to sit down. Probably to make you eat at the over-priced pool bar! Overall, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES go there for a 'lads' or 'girls' holiday. I wouldn't go there with my family either. The resort was shocking and the hotel wasn't much better. If you do decide to go, don't pay more than £100. Go to Fuengirola or Torremolinos in the Costa Del Sol for a nice family holiday. Or go to Kavos or Ibiza for a lads holiday!

Brilliant place! Good sized pool (the deep end was 8ft deep!), ample sun beds, nice and quiet, and about 20 mins walk to town to the hustle and bustle. The resort of Kavos is pretty unsuitable for families, though there were a few when i went. The bar is open 24/7 and the owner sleeps just 3 hours a day...he's a machine. The place is about 15 mins walk to the beach, and the food is pretty good - the decent cooked breakfast for 3 euros (£2.10) was eaten most days! Most people there were 19-25 year olds and generally from the North of England. Rooms were basic but nice. Not fantastically clean, but that's probably because we found a way of turning the key so the cleaner couldn't get in when we were asleep. Overall, a really nice place to stay!
