Hi Charlotte We are thinking of going to Marbella Hotel in St Johns. Is the hotel ok? Is St Johns too far out - it does seem a bit isolated.? Is the bus service regular to Corfu town Would you recommend Hotel and Place? many thanks Marian

Hello, Writing here from an internet Cafe in Moritika , a town 30 minutes walk from St Johns. St Johns is a quaint little town with three restaurants , the best by far being Bougibessa fish tavern , the mussels saginaki is to die for. Forget the wine - anywhere , it is used here to strip paint and that is it. St Johns is made up of the sea , 10ft of beach , tavernas , the road and then apartments. The view from the apartment is beautiful , you can see Albania , Greek Mainland and the end of Corfu (Kavos) and the sea is clear and very clean , St Johns is useful just to relax on the beach and eat out at night but for more adventurous activites you need to walk (or bus) to either Benitses or Moritika, both 30 minutes walk away. The weather is fantastic 30 degrees every day , bit cloudy at times. There is the Marbella 5 star hotel at the end of St Johns (only place for an English paper) which looks very fancy and it has its own area of beach which you can use at a price (if caught!) it also has a boat to Corfu town (if it turns up) and water sports. Sky sports can be found at the back end of Moritika - there is even a live saturday Premiership match One problem is the NOISE , the traffic runs next to the apartment and it doesn't stop all night , even for the small village of St Johns To sum up , St Johns offers 2 weeks relaxation time but don't forget the earplugs for bedtime.
