I'M PLANNING TO GO BACK TO IPSOS NEXT YEAR IN JULY, COULD ANYONE TELL ME IF ITS BUSY THEN OR IS IT QUIET?

Nicki L

Me + Tracey stayed in room 16 at the Zeus studios, it was quite small but had everything we needed. Apologies to the cleaner!!! We went 4 2 weeks (9th-23rd august04). the nightlife was excellent!!!! The best i've ever had! We were out every night, the drinks are a good price and you get free shots! the best places were The Temple Bar, the staff there are fab specially Dean, Erik and Panos. Also try Shooters, The Old Tree and Cheers (hi to Roxie and Andreas)oh and don't forget AA! Every bar has pole's that u can dance on which is fab! watch out coz the drinks are very quite strong!! We're goin back 4 4 weeks on july 4th 05 so watch out!! hi to Kirsty and Iain from room 18!! The italians are horrinble and sleazy thats bout the only thing that ruined it. The Greek Corner and Hairy Lemon are best for food!!!

Lizzy P

loved ipsos and i will defiantely be back!!best advice is to start the night at cocoon and then go to the old tree shooters aa and the b52's but always go back to aa toward the end of the night cause it gets really busy and its just awesome(anyone who is reading this from aa i expect free drinks net year for giving you all so much praise!!)
watch out for the italians they are scary and p**vy and will not take no for an answer best bet is to find some nice lad to walk you home.....hairy lemon dinos and phevos are three of the best restaurants i have been in but if you go to pyrgi palace just before antigoni aparatments go early and expect a wait because they are very short staffed but the food is awesome!!!loved antigoni apartments the pool is gorgeous and the owner treated us like family the whole two weeks even though we made a bit too much noise and caused a bit of trouble!!all in all a fab girlie holiday!!

Mya L

Me and my friend stayed in Dassia for 2weeks and because we were both 18 we were pretty scared about going to nightclubs in a forign country. But when we went to Ipsos we found it to be the best night out EVA!!! The clubs are so relaxed and chilled out, they play english music and you see some bars play the odd greek songs which is alright. All the clubs and bars are lined up on the street so its not hard to get around Ipsos, some clubs close at 6 in the morning meaning you can party the night away. We acttully stayed in Dassia which was a couple of minutes away and althought Ipsos had the nightlife it didnt have much daytime events(shops, resturants etc). Overall we found Ipsos the place to be if anywhere near Corfu Town, the best bars wer Coccoon, Shooters, Alcohol Annonamos and Moniccos.

Donna B

we visited ipsos in july 2004 and it was brilliant. the reviews that we read on the accomodation (zeus) before we went didnt make good reading, but when we arrived we found clean apartments, a bit on the small side but that didnt bother us.as long as you dont have high expectations, the apartments were perfectly fine.the pool area was good and it was in a great location. dont let any bad reviews put you off. we didnt have one bad meal for the whole 2 weeks and would highly recommend the hairy lemon, floga and phevos for great food.Calypso also does a mean panini!
although the beach was shingle rather than sand, we went there practically every day and just used a lilo instead of paying to use the sunbeds.the only bad thing about it was getting in and out of the sea cos it hurts your feet!
The nightlife was really good and catered for everyone. our favourite bars along the main strip were Shooters, Cocoon and Dirty Nellies. There was also a bar called MAD which was good for playing pool. Just along the road from our apartments in Pirgi was a bar called Caramelitas which we went to every night and i would highly recommend the blue moon cocktail! They showed films every night on a big screen which hadn't been released in the UK such as spiderman 2 and shrek 2.
For daytime activities i would highly recommend taking a trip on captain homers boat, he does a bbq and stops off at different resorts, well worth the 14 euros, but book direct with them rather than with the reps as they charge 40 euros for the same trip.
Corfu town is well worth a visit. great for shopping and you can visit the old fortress. plus there is a McDonalds!
The weather was really hot whilst we were there reaching 37 degrees! hot stuff!there was a huge storm on the first night there which was welcomed by the locals as it cooled down in preparation for the temperatures that were on the way.
i would definitely recommend ipsos, i had a great time, didnt want to come home! everyone was really friendly and i would definitely return.

Ipsos is fantastic. I have been to many places around the world - and have to say that Ipsos has lots going for it.
It is only a samll place so everything is in easy reach, and unless you are staying up the hills at either end, you are mainly on the flat. It is great for families as well as the 18-30 crowd - the 24hr day splits nicely e.g. a family can visit any of the bars up to midnight/1am - then the younger crowd come out - they don't hit the strip until then because their night goes on until 6am ish. Note - don't stay in apartments near the strip if you want to sleep - stay up the Pirgi road - and bars/ shops are cheaper the further out you go. There are signs of investment ( refurbishing), but Ipsos is really struggling because the tour operators have zoned in on Sidari. It is a nice place and a better beach, but having a Macdonalds and Pizza Hut doesn't draw me to Greece!!!! I much prefer the mix of Greek restaurants/bars and the 'pubs/clubs' that Ipsos has to offer. The food is excellent too - whether Greek ( I love Stifado) or Chinese, Indian or British, I have NEVER had a bad meal.
There are ATM's - chemist - doctors - everything you need - really good clothes shops, and as far as WE holiday makers make it possible, the owners of the establishments keep the toilets/rooms etc as clean as they can.
The only down sides are SOME ( vast majority it feels like at times) Italians in the summer months are really ignorant to Greeks and tourists alike. If only they would realise that they are not welcome behaving that way and move on to somewhere else, or better still learn some respect and put their hands in their pockets.
The beach is not fantastic, but is adequate for the crowd of young uns who use it to chill after the night/morning before. We like the pools best - you can use most as long as you purchase drinks/food from them.

David B

We thought Ipsos was bendy and fruitless with a smell that was a mixture of butterscotch meets mrs Allan from down the way. One man asked me for directions, he had lived there for nearly twenty years!!!

Marie P

Jodie T

Ipsos is the place to be when in Corfu, the nightlife is brill, there's 3 of us going back in a week an half cnt wait.

Louise C

we always go back

Mary C

Myself and my family have been to Ipsos every year for the last five years,we stay at Costas Beach Hotel, It is run by Lefteris and his mother and father and from the first time we stayed their they made us feel like one of the family, the rooms are nice and clean and the food is great. The bars in Ipsos are all very friendly especially the Three Brother's which is run by Manthos and his wife also shooter's is excellent, I think i have been in every bar in Ipsos and they are all very friendly and all good so if you ever go to Ipsos and need somewhere to stay try the hotel Costas Beach you will all be made very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for Lefteris and his family.

Jodie T

I WENT TO IPSOS IN AUGUST AND I HAVE BOOKED TO GO AGAIN IN JULY.
IPSOS IS VERY LIVELY AND ALOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE GO THERE, I WOULDN'T RECCOMEND IT TO OLDER PEOPLE AS THERE ISN'T MUCH TO DO THERE IN THE DAY. ALSO IN IPSOS THERE ARE ALOT OF HILLS. BUT APART FROM THAT IT'S MAD.

Alex S

The only reason I liked ipsos was because of the nightlife.
If you are going for anything else then I won't bother, I went on holiday there back in the summer of 1999.
The beach is lousy, the place itself is very small, but i still give it thumbs up for the nightlife, so any young people (18-30) you'll love it.

Debbie T

My parents (early fifties) have just booked 2 weeks mid June to stay at the Lavrion apartments. If anyone has stayed there please could you let me know what they were like and what Iposis is like? It's their first holiday in Greece. Thanks mucjly.

John P

To Gary Wright Go to or check up on SEA SCAPE Appts. Me and the wife loved the place and the people, recomend it to all my pals.

All the best for the New Year,

Fred n Paula.

Helen S

We stayed at the Borghese Pension apartments and had the best time .We had an excellant week and Erena and her sons, and mother and father, made us very welcome .We will definately be going back next year

Laura C

Just back from a wk in Ipsos. had the most fantastic holiday - will def return!! seascapre appartments were perfect. they were spotless, private and had a idylic location (right on the beach yet accessible to the main street). the food was really tasty and cheap but the excellent service really made our evenings. locals couldnt have been more helpful. i would highly recommend this holiday destination to anyone

Alan L

worked in ipsos for the summer last year, first half as holiday rep with libra, other half as barman in temple bar, anyone wants any advice drop me an email - alanincorfu2002@hotmail.com

Kate

We and my mates had a wickedholiday in Ipsos!! The beach is horrible but the nightlife was great. Esp Lumber Jacks, AA, Shooters and Old Tree!!! I would def recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pete L

i was in ipsos 4 year back, we stayed at the yiannis apart/hotel,and we enjoyed it there,it was like a little oasis tucked out the way but not far to get back at night from all the bars and restaurants.the only down side is the steep hill you have to walk up to get back to the hotel.ive lost the hotels web address which i had, if anyone can help me out i would be greatful.

Michael J

I visited Ipsos with my girlfriend We stayed at the Jason hotel it was located centraly just a very short walk up a track. The hotel was very nice apart from the amazing ammont of wasps the whole of corfu suffers with this. There is not a lot to do in the resort unless you like sunbathing on pebbely beaches. There are plenty of bars and the race night at TIFFANYS was particulaly fun. The resort was genraly quiet but still enough people for it not to be dead....

Ed and jamie H

The ipsos beach apartments are nice. Basic but comfortable. At end of main road opp the beach. No pool but you can use the one at the Yiannis apts which is lovely, about a 3 min walk away.

Lisa C

After reading the coments on Zeus studios we were not looking forward to it, but to our suprise when we got there it was nothing like the people said on the web!! It wasn't luxurious but it was nice, clean and comfortable. The nightlife was great - The Temple Bar is the place to go - you can start your night there or end your night there either way you'll have a top night. Lumber Jacks is also a great place to go for an early evening drink and a game of pool!

All in all Top Holiday!!!!

Alicia E

Had a great time in Ipsos! Something for everyone! Will certainly be back next year! al and Becs x x x x

Gary W

ipsos i a place i wud reccomend to any1 really. good BEACH to relax on and the watersports is excellent. onna nighttime the life is very good with places to go like LUMBER JACKS for a family drink and a dance to the latest pop and rnb untill about 11 well the music gets abit heavier and MONACO the club next door with is perfect for the young clubbers.

John T

does anyone of any nice self catering apartments in ipsos

Lou D

We have only just arrived back from Ipsos .. After reading some of the comments on this website about Zeus i was really dreading going there, when we arrived we got a reasonably clean room, 2 beds and a basic bathroom, like some others have said, you cant expect anymore for the price you pay! The resort was nice and relaxing, plenty of nice restaurants to eat in Mommas kitchen,Dinos and many others, not much else to do after that apart from drink and be merry along the mile ! Worth a visit to Corfu Town on taxi boat! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay ..

Stacey S

staying in the Solomou apartments in Ipsos. Heard a few horror stories about it and not looking forward to going at all. Is it really as bad as people are saying?

Paul F

We did enjoy ourselves, but i think the town needs some serious investment and developement. Quite a shoddy town!

Lou

Visited Ipsos with my best friend, Kate. Nightlife was brilliant, you must visit Cocoon cocktail Bar, its bangin!!
Food was fantastic, Beach was nice though lots of pebbles that burn your feet when there hot!
Going back next year - can't wait!!!

Dave S

Nicci A

i am due to stay in the Christina Apartments in Ipsos next week and have heard mixed reports can anyone help?

Val B

Hi to eveyone. My husband and I have been to Ipsos four times now and want to move there. We have stopped in various places, last year the Jason but it is to far out and up and steep hill even though there are steps at the back of the hotel. This year we stopped at the Yannis, lovely views over Ipsos, but because we already know the place we didn`t spend much time in the hotel.Reccomend the seascape appartments down in Pygri, small bar at the back called hot shots this is owned by Rhonda and Giorges and have become very good friends over the past eight years. Mamas Kitchen just over the road again funtastic. All the clubs are good but we tend to stick to one bar and that is Tiffanys owned by Ross and Maria, very English, big T.V showing the latest films and football, again become our second family. Another place to eat is Oddeseys, Denise and Franco great food and a warm welcome. Lanas next door, clothes shop. You will find the shops off the main road in Pygri a lot cheaper so do browse. Weather in May was funtastic. I could go on and tell you alot more, if you do want any more info E-mail me. Hope you all have a great hols you will not be dissapoinyed.

Nicola L

I am looking for hotels in corfu in ipsos
do you have a map off all the htels in ipsos

thank you

Halina W

Possibly one of the loveliest places on earth-not really stunning or beautiful although when you're in the sea looking towards the beach you'll love the mountains and the view. The locals are ace-look out for Captain Homer's boat excursions and his lovely wife Sofia who has the first sunbeds near the Green Bar-they'll tell you everything you need to know. Explore the village - brilliant-guess where I'll be retiring too!!!

Hels S

Have just booked a girly holiday with 5 other friends. Staying at the Helios Studio Apartments in Ipsos in mid July. We want a fun hoilday but without the yobs thanks! Anyone stayed at these apartments or been to Ipsos at this time of year? Please send me good and bad reports! Cheers!

T S

I'll agree with Jez, ipsos is great fun. as it's small u get to know
everyone really well (and them you, though I'm not sure this is
such a good thing!!!)

Just go and expect to have fun, without the yobs - even during
high season - watch out in Aug though as Italians come over by
the boat load and that month is hell

TIP: Don't carry valuables around with u this month.

at the very beginning and end of season, Ipsos is visited by the
US Navy, now this IS fun. Look out girls, they are sooo generous
with their money when it comes to impressing the ladies!!! Good
fun.

Ipsos i feel is in the best situation for visiting all of corfu, plus
and excursions are only a short bus journey ratherbthan the hour
or so it will take from many other parts!

Ciaron L

information on the best places to get married on the island preferablly near ipsos my friend is getting married out there hopefully in september and as the best man i need all the information i can get so his big day will be one to remember

Jez R

Visited Sept 2002 and had a good week - ok beach isnt Miami Nightlife isnt San Antonio but hey...you aint paid as much to get there! a mile of car hire/cafe/shop/bars and a couple of larger pubs called nightclubs..I went in quiet season and quite enjoyed it bet in the summer its lively but without the kavos yobs..try it you wont be dissappointed the restaurants are fantastic! try the posh chinese with a view over the sea and the cocktails in Bar52..people can always moan about things but I found the ten foot drops, derilect buildings, and the odd strong smells a laugh!! Spain is too concrete-greece is a little rougher but look further than the normal stupid complaints about the beach and noisy discos-enjoy!! its the best resort on the island!

Lisa J

we have just arrived home and arte already planning our next visit. Ipsos and Pirgi are excellant, good base for touring and boat trips, plenty of excellant places to eat and great nightlife. Can`t wait to go back.

Alison M

Sandra Studios/apartments. These were absolutely disgusting, wouldn't put an animal in there to live, everything about it was disgusting, how Kosmar can advertise these apartments is beyond me and they were supposed to be an A Grade. Spent 3 days trying to get moved, finally moved to Dimitra Studios in Dassia, these were lovely studios with a nice pool and pool bar, would recommend Dimitra

Jackie M

Please don't stay at the Zeus Apartments. They are a hell hole. How Kosmar can possibly put these in their brochures I do not know. They are unclean and extremely basic. An absolute disgrace. Poverty is the word that springs to mind.

Lisa N

(JUNE 2000)FAB HOLIDAY...... ONE TO REMEBER!!

Geoff D

i have been to corfu several times, at various resorts, but none of them can match Ipsos!
