I had the pleasure of returning to Corfu, unfortunately I had a very, very bad experience whilst shopping in Sidari.

I was sold a 3 stone "white sapphire" ring, which I have now found out is actually Cubic Zirconias.  I am trying desperately to try to get this problem solved, but I would like to warn people, BEWARE, WHEN BUYING ABROAD!!!

Hi Liz, I have been going to Sidari for the past 4 years now, saw a wedding there last august, it was lovely at the Lagoon Apts, they had their reception at Dioysis or something like that its on the strip, they decorated it for them and they said it was gorgeous, english and greek food, or try The 3 Brothers Hotel, it is gorgeous inside there, all the restaurants go all the way through to the beach, which is lovely, try either of these two, not sure about the town hall, this couple were married outside they said, about 10 mins from sidari, they had a coach and everything laid on all booked via First Choice, but they said it was magical and gorgeous day and night, good luck

Hi everyone,

I am getting married in Sidari next year, can anyone tell me what the town hall is like.  Also where is the best place to go to for a meal afterwards?  There will be 8 adults plus two babies

Patricia B          10/10

Could anyone tell me the name of the appartments behind the Champion Bar as my husband and myself used to stay there every year for 9 years and were very friendly with the family that own it, I have not got any communication details of them  as I've lost Theo's phone number and we have not been for 5 years. They are no longer in the Kosmar brochure and need the Address to make a booking.  I would really appreciate it if anyone could find out these details for me. My email address is olive_oil56@yahoo.co.uk

My wife & I are just back from having a fantastic holiday. We stayed in the Petrakis Apts we were well looked after and highly recommend staying here.

20 min walk to main resort but stop off at Legends pub half way for a nice cool drink and the staff are very friendly
Ate most nights in the Paradise Restaurant very well priced and staff are excellent.
Lots of entertainment in various pubs & hotels so many to choose from.
Great relaxing holiday and we will definately be returning next year

I`m going to Sidari again after a 20 year gap, this time with the wife and 2 boys. We are staying at the Angeliki Maisonettes for 2 weeks from 15th August. Does anyone have any info about the place, as I can`t find much on the net.

     Thanks, Simon.

Tina H

To RICH AND THERESA

I am going to the Lagoon apartments on 22nd August for 2 weeks with my family, stayed there last year and the year before we found it as we walked past.

Its Brillient, waiters and staff will do anything for you, honestly, they are brillient, paul the entertainment guy has left and hes been replaced and maria has left the waitress, you can email Jess the receptionist (welsh woman shes lovely) - thelagoonsidari@aol.com, she might be able to tell her about places you could book before hand, the three brothers is really nice though as mentioned before.

Its a lovely place here honestly you will love it, my 6 year old loves it there, they are so so friendly, people go back year after year, near to the main road, but far away not to hear all the loud music, but plenty of restuarants, pubs, clubs etc, its brillient.  What days are you going, and good luck, i am not sure about the town hall, but email Jess at the Lagoon, I am pretty sure she will help you.

Just got back after visiting for a number of years. Sea Breeze and Memories resaurants are 2 great places to eat and very very good value for money. Can get a 3 course meal for less than a fiver and its good food.

Reccomend hiring a bota for the day.

And should definately take a trip up to sunset beach to watch the sun go down - great views!

At the minute the weather was extremely hot and urge you, if you can, to get air con for the evenings when sleeping!

Paul L

Paul L

weather is still warm but a lot of places are closing down about middle of october

Alison H

Hi Richard,

did you not think to check out Sidari before you booked it?
My husband and myself are not young, but we loved the atmosphere in the town at night, so to say it's only for the young is very misleading.
If you don't want to go into bars and restaurants, just say no thanks and keep walking, nobody can make you do anything you don't want to do.

BTW incase you're wondering, I'm in my late 40's, so I'm in no way, shape or form considered "young"

(well maybe mentally I am)

Richard R          1/10

My girlfriend and I were staying just outside sidari in the canal d amour area and we went into sidari during the day for a wander around the shops which were packed with loads of different stuff.
We went into sidari town centre one night and it was a NIGHTMARE, you could not walk past a bar without someone trying to get you in, we found this VERY off putting!.
My advice; if your young sidari town centre is for you, if not stay in the bars at canal d amour.

Vanessa M          10/10

Hi eveyone just wondering i fanybody can help me. I absolutely adore corfu and especially Sidai as it was the first place we went on a family holiday.back in 2004. Th e only problem that i have is that the apartments that we stayed at Spiros are no longer operated by Thomsons and i dont know if anybody else has taken it on. Does anybody know if you can still book to go to Spiros as it was absolutely fab it is the best holiday i have ever had

Mali G

The Lagoon apartments are about 100 yards from the beach, close by to the Mimosa hotel. There are many restuarants where you can have a reception,The Three Brothers is ideal and just around the corner from the lagoon.Bouavias(if thats how you spell it) is a popalar greek restuarant(my favourite).I cant for tyhe life of me think where the town hall is.Beware of mosquitos at the Lagoon,I have been many times by there and always people have been bitten. It has bingo nearly every night, new films, football matches, right opposite a little kids fair.It does look very nice from the outside and there always plenty of people there which could tell you something.I hope this has been slightly helpful,I am going to sidari tonight

Richard C

Hi everyone.

I am traveling to Sidari and staying at the Lagoon apts for the first time in August this year with my family ; were my partner and I will be getting married .
I was just wondering if anyone could give us a clue as to how far the town hall is from  the Lagoon apts and also if anyone has any recomendations of  any nice resteraunts in the area that could accomodate a nice reception of about 35 people.
While im at it any info on the Lagoon appartments itself would be greatfull.

   Cheers Rich n Teresa

Jane T

I would just like to thank everyone who responded to my post, especially 'Alison Holloway'who provided us with pics of the ektor apartments and an insight into what to expect. Your comment were all very much appreciated. We are really looking forward to our holiday in Sidari altho this is the first time we have done self catering and stayed in apartments .We have always taken the easy 'all inclusive' option in the past when the children were much younger as it worked out easier and probably cheaper for us. We now feel its time to move on and explore other areas and i'm sure it will make the holiday more enjoyable instead of being tied to one place for the duration.I'm a little worried but, your comments and recommendations will help us,i'm sure. Thanks again Jane x

Wayne W

Hi how are you Im not sure the name of the road but it is on the main road in the town, also check out premier bar  thats good too

Shaznae S

Hi everyone!  Does anyone know the address of Calypso Bar in Sidari? What road is it on? Thanks

Latisha L          10/10

its great and a lovely place i think sidari is much better than the town centre. i stayed at othonas and everyone is friendly wherever you go, i think the best place i ate at was the olympic restaurant its got lovely food and lovely staff. xxxxx you should go there!!!!!!!!!its right near loads of supermarkets the beach and gift shops its quite cheap and afordable its great for familys. i went with mine and othonas and the olympic restaurant was both warm welcoming and othonas has a pool and bar which is public so you can meet new people!!!!!!!!  thank you for reading this long comment now i think you should go there! have fun.

Pauline S          10/10

Hi there going to Sidari on the 1rst August this year for the 5th time.Been there at different times of the year and would say July or August are the best times to go as they are the busiest times of the year aswell as the hottest. Absolutly love it would recommened staying at the Zafiris appts, staff are really freindly and always helpful. Can't wait to visit again this year.

Mike H          10/10

If you get a coach transfer from airport to resort by first choice and your rep is Ann make sure you say hello. Thats mother and stepdad Roy will be in 'Legends Apartments' every evening so pop in for a drink. Will always be a friendly welcome.

Mike H          10/10

Going back to Sidari for what will be 2nd year in a row and for the 4th time overall. Place is brilliant, fly out 29th June and cannot wait.

Anybody going out there this year you must try out 'Sea Breeze', The Mexican and 'The Roof Garden' as places to eat, all 3 in centre of town. Highly reccommend hiring a boat for the day (only approx 80 euros for the whole day), get to see some fantastic beaches that you will have to yourself.

Loads to do all day and night for all ages.

Alison H          10/10

Hi Jane,

the Ektor apartments are about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town.
We absolutely loved staying at Ektor I hope you will too.
There are 2 supermarkets just up the road, you can see them from the entrance to Ektors.
Salt and Pepper is only 200yards away, they do a fantastic breakfast and the trip buses stop outside their restaurant so we found it very handy to have eat there first.

There are no pavements in most of the town, and in the begining I found it pretty scary walking on the road as it's quite busy, but after a couple of days, you ignore the traffic and just get on with it.

There are tons of trips to go on, you must visit the waterparks especially Aqualand.

My favourite trip was to Albania, but I'm not sure your kids will enjoy as there were no children at all on the trip we took.

The beach BBQ was a bit of a nightmare as the small cove we went to was pounded by the sun all day and stones kept falling on us from the cliffs behind, but the food was lovely.

There is a glass bottom boat trip that a lot of people from Ektors went on and they all said how much they enjoyed.

Don't book your trips through the rep, go into town there are loads of travel shops where you can book a LOT cheaper.

Finally, Sidari has a couple of beaches and plenty of boats, bananas etc to keep the kids amused., and make sure you spend time around the Canal D'Amour area, you'll see some amazing views and lots of lizards.

Alison
P.S give my love to George and the gang, can't wait to go back next year.

P.P.S HAVE FUN!!!!

Just got back on Monday.
There are loads of bars in Sidari.
The resort had only opened up the week before we got there and more places were opening up.
Pints were quite expensive thanks to the poor exchange rate. about 4 euro was the most i paid but you can get bottles of Amstel, Stella etc a bit cheaper.
Bars open late into the night, some karaoke, some live music.
get 4 cans of Amstel or Mythos (local lager) before u go out, for 4.40 euro at supermarket!

Kevin M

GARY
current rate of exchange is 1.26 euro to the £1-00
our hotel had a 2% commission charge on this.
Travelex at Newcastle airport only gave us 1.15 euro.

RUTH/ ALLISON
Yes there are quite a few cash points in sidari taking various visa cards etc.
didnt use them myeslf but the were there in the main street.

John H          10/10

Dianne R          10/10

Hi everyone,

For those of you off to Sidari for the first time then you will be pleasantly surprised - I always stay in the Lagoon apartments which are good quality and spotlessly clean so I cannot comment on other accomodation . One thing you all have to bear in mind is that their sanitation system is not as good as ours - loo roll should not be flushed down the loo !!

The town of Sidari is lively, plenty of restaurants and bars to get entertained, - you should all try the "little pigs" greek restaurant - it is so good!

Another place to try is the Red Lion pub  in Sidari , if you are broad  minded then this is the place for you - their entertainment is excellent BUT YOU MUST NOT BE EASILY OFFENDED !! and it isn't really a place for youngsters.

The beach is clean and well maintained

On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give full marks for Sidari - the only downside is the transfer from the Airport ...it is never ending .......!!

Hope you all enjoy  your holiday

Debi S

could u please show me a map of how far "takis apartments" are from the main beach and nightlife!!!! thanks

Alison L          10/10

WE HAVE BEEN TO SIDARI  AND STAYED AT THE CHRISTAKIS HOTEL APARTMENTS FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS,WE HAVE MADE MANY FRIENDS IN THAT TIME,NEVER EATEN IN THE MAIN TOWN,ALWAYS HEARING COMPLAINTS,THATS WHY WE KEEP TO THE OUTSKIRTS,WE FOUND THE BEST ONES ARE, CACTUS JACKS, THE THREE LITTLE PIGS, THE MYTHOS. SYMPOSIO, WE WILL RETURN AGAIN.

Melanie D          10/10

Me my partner & 13 year old son went to Sidari in late September for the first time. The weather let us down in the second week but the food made up for it. We tried some fantastic places to eat but our favourite was Cactus Jacks. The food was amazing, we ate there so much as it was very cheap and lots of it. we met Dee & George who were so friendly, Dee took a shine to my son who she said had made her summer whch was nice to here. I would advise anyone to eat here as it really was something else. Hope you read this Dee as it was lovely to meet you and Myles was impressed with the kiss you gave him on our last night.

Antony F          8/10

LOVELY LITTLE PLACE,IT WAS A BIT QUIETER THAN WE EXPECTED,BUT THAT MEANT YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO FIGHT FOR A SEAT IN RESTARAUNTS AND BARS. I THINK IF WE RETURN HERE IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT EARLIER THAN WE DID.

Gary R          10/10

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sidari, actually it was our second time in 5 years. This time we stayed at the San George Hotel Appartments. The Hotel and Pool area were very nice and clean as were the rooms. The staff George, Achillies, Georgia and Mamma were very friendly and helpful. We will go back and stay there again.

Monty M          2/10

Sorry, just not our scene. Plenty of people in all age-groups there but;  McDonalds, chinese, mexican, indian curry houses and english bar after bar is not my idea of Greece, might just as well have been in England.  Great if your life consists of tattoos, chicken nuggets, wearing football shirts and ending up in a drunken heap.  Deserves more for the beaches (but you still can't get away from the life style even there) so sorry, not for us.

Kelly W

Just Stayed at Sellas and we thought it was lovely. Nice and friendly and really close to everything!!

Gary

For Donna Gow.

Hi Donna,  not been to the sellas before, but a friend has & he says it’s good.

Eating out, come out of the sellas hotel on to the main road, turn left, on the same side of the road is three really good restaurants, symposia is the first one you come to, further on is mythos, next door to that is the family restaurant run by marco & rita very friendly.

If you try these you won’t be disappointed. Hope you have a good one!!. Enjoy your stay in sidari.

Hi All,

(In response to Jess Herring)

I'm off to Sidari at the end of Aug/beginning of Sept for my 5th visit to date,But it will be my first time staying at the Monika Htl/Apts,So i can't really comment on them aside from to say all the reviews I have read have been very positive.

Transfer time for me has never been 2.5 hours,at most it's been around 1 hour 45 mins, that said I guess it depends on how many drop offs you have on your coach. It's not a nightmare journey ,though it is a little cliffy at times I find it easy to fall to sleep during the ride and that's my suggestion to eliminate bordom on the way there lol.

There's one really long beach wich a lot of the bars/resturants back out onto on Sidari's main strip and towards the canal d'amor end there is a few littler beaches/coves and cliffy terraces to park yourself and catch the rays!

On the whole Sidari is perfection there's somthing for everyone,I have been going since I was 12 (now 20) and I have no plans to stop!! Roll on end of august!!

Anyways hope that helped and if anyone else has anything I can help them with ask away...

Me and my best friend went to Sidari for a week mid-July - it was the best week of our lives!
Everyone is so friendly and the Koursaros apartments were brilliant - the manager and barmaid couldn't have been more helpful!
One great place to eat is the Olympic restuarant, the Greek dancing is brilliant and Vannessa (the PR girl on the door) is really lovely, she introduced us to all the locals and managed to get us lots of free drinks. The foods brilliant and the menu's huge.
Ice Bar is the best club in Sidari even though there's only two. You get free shots for just standing in there! The barmen are great as well!
Make sure you take lots of mosquito repellent, I got bitten a lot!
Overall, the holiday was great and we'll definitely be going back :-)

Jordan L          10/10

Hey,

Aqualand is fantastic fun. There's plenty to do for everyone; from the lazy river and pirates ship to the flume where you just practically free fall. lol. It's near corfu town so my guess would be that a taxi would cost you about 30 euros each way. Best to book through one of the local travel shops.

Jessica H

Hi Gary,

Thank you for the advice, I am going with Olympic holidays which has the transfer included I am guessing it will be a coach!! Unless they put us in Taxi's, I will give them a call and find out, did you just hop in a taxi from the airport?

Mnay Thanks,

Jess

Gary

Hi Jess, Don’t go by coach if you can help it!, go by taxi it only takes about 40 minutes. Normally costs between 40& 50 euros.

Cheers Gary

Just got back from Sidari again, went out for our 40th wedding aniversary with family and friends, age range from 16 to 64 all had a great time as usual, only disappointment was that Matthew has sold the Bolero Bar and moved to Ammus bar at San Spyridon. George is still at Bolero along with Sarah, Sammy has gone to Premier bar a few doors up. Stayed at Lagoon Hotel which is nice and central very clean and the staff are fantastic. This is us in Bolero Bar sharing a drink from Yannis the new owner.

hi we have just returned from our holiday in sidari as my parents live there! They are ann and roy from legends bar and are very well known! We loved our time there so much that my husband and i are moving with our 3 year old son to sidari next may! Once you go to sidari you will never want to leave. You must give legends a go for a good night out but then i am biased!! If anyones going before our next visit in september then tell them we said hi!

Gav S

the drink prices are ok its about 4euros for a vodak and coke etc and about 3euros for a pint of beer which is normally mythos of amstel resturant prices are great if ya big eater go to bed bar .........also the tex mex mexican above shakers i think is a great meal and value for money i juts got back 2days ago from spending two weeks out there loved every minute of it

Lynn W          10/10

Booked last minute to Angeliki apts in Sidari best phone call I've ever made.  The apts are away from the town centre but only a five minute taxi ride away, so you've got the best of both worlds, but believe me once you've been welcomed by George and his lovely family you can party any time of the day or night.  First time we've been to Corfu but it definately wont be the last and we'll be heading straight for Angeliki and George or as he is better known "What time is it" - "Shot Time".  We were there for two weeks and can honestly say we enjoyed every minute, never stopped laughing, totally relaxing and just like being part of one big happy family.  Apartments are basic but spotless clean but hey when you're having a fab holiday who wants to stay in their apts? Missing George and Mario already only got back yesterday! Oh Fab place to eat is Mythos in Sidari town, take my advice don't order a starter you'll never get through it all!!!

Hello

There are many local travel agents DO NOT USE REP very expensive shop around we always use Value Plus next to Southern Fried Chicken on main street excellent service.

You need to be a very stong swimmer to swim through the canal

Deborah W

Hi I am visiting sidari the first 2 weeks in August, can anyone suggest the best place to organise a trip to albania and if you have swam through the canal, do you have to be a good swimmer

Phillipa M          10/10

Hi we had a fab week in Sidari last year and met some lovely people, Hi Dede and Ray, we stayed on the outskirts of the town (Elena Appts, great place) but it did not dampen our fun, our best day was when we hired a boat just the two of us, we found a secluded beach and enjoyed the peace and beauty. This year we are back on 13th July for two weeks and we are staying at the St George Appts, we are really looking forward to it.   I would recomend this beautiful Island to family's and couples alike, there is something for everyone, hope you have as much fun as we do.

Peter P          10/10

Peter

Janet K

Can U Help?
Same as Kathy Halliday, can anyone tell me pretty much the same answer to her questions - we are going on August 6th and have a 14 yr old teenage boy!
Can we take him to the bars?
Is there enough for him to do?

Chris H          10/10

Hi, me and my girlfriend (28 and 25) have just returned after being in Sidari for a week. I was a bit sceptical about the place as i heard it was very British and was a little worried about our hotel (Sellas) as it had been so cheap to book the hol!! Was totally blown away on both counts. The beach is gorgeous, easily the best on the island, and we saw quite a few!! I thought the nightlife was amazing, u could either go mad and drink till the early hours with good music and a 'young' crowd or u could sit back and relax and watch the world go by in a quieter bar. There was a wide mix of people there (mainly brits but it doesnt have a 'blackpool' feel) young and old, couples and singles but without the gangs of predatory drunken yobs or cackling, foul mouthed hen parties that you tend to get in the livlier resorts. I advise B and B or self catering as there is such a wide choice of food and restaurants availiable that you are unlikely to want to stick to the same place every night. Boat trips and hire cars are a must, Paleo was the nicest destination by far. Its best to see the agents in town for these, we went to Phillip the campest travel agent in greece for ours, he was hilarious!! The Hotel Sellas was a good place to stay, basic but the location more than made up for it, it was nice and quiet away from the main road but only a 2 min walk to beach and bars and the pool was lush. All this applies to Jun when we went, i expect it gets a lot busier and hectic in Jul/Aug with a lot more kids running around!! Highly recommended for any age..

click to enlarge  We went in June 2006, and we are going back in July this year we are staying   at Akti Aphrodite Hotel there is 6 of us going. We stayed at Akti Aphrodite Apartments part of the hotel, apartments were very clean and nice rooms.  The hotel facilities were good the owner and staff are very friendly. Sidari great for people of all ages, very flat and easy to get about, lots of bars and shops, we would recommend mythos, the family (next door to mythos) and pizza romano these are great places to eat well worth a visit. Greek people are very friendly, theres even a (small) mc donalds.  Midas is a great jewellers go in and see for yourself. There's also great watersports, a visit to Corfu town and Corfu waterpark is essential. Can't wait to go back, we feel it's well worth a visit.

We were a party of 5 that stayed at the Spiradoula Apts 7/5/07, we all had a lovely time the weather was beautiful, the apartments were clean and well run by George and his staff , all very freindly and helpful, it is about a mile walk to the bars etc but once you have enjoyed yourself you can always get a taxi back!so if you get the chance to stay there we are sure you will have a wonderful time

Abbie H          10/10

me and my boyfriend went to sidari last year and stayed in the beach star hotel. we both had a great time and are going in july 07. we are staying at the marco mimosa hotel. the beach is great and so are the bars. we loved boleros. the two bar men there sammy and george are well funny. also mikeys. where lee, craig and yannie work. youll have a good time in there. if anyone has stayed at the marco mimosa hotel could you email me and let me know what its like. if you go try memories it does amazing food and cactus jacks is well worth a visit. water sports are good but they didnt have jet skis . if your planning any trips go on the bbq boat trip, unlimited food and booze and swimming in the caves is the best part. every thursday at ceasers theres a foam party which is a gaurented laugh.

click to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlarge  My wife & I have just returned from a fortnight in Sidari, we stayed in the Legend Apartments, owned by Takis, & run by his staff, (a more friendly & hospitable crew would be  hard to find), Roxy & George kept us fed & watered, Ann made sure everyone was made welcome on arrival, no matter what time of day/night, as well as acting as waitress, her husband Roy, resident DJ & Compere, entertained us with his numerous quizzes, called the Bingo in his unique West Country accent, held the Karaoke together, some nights it needed it!!!!

The apartments were spotless, the pools were excellent, & the complex is perfectly situated, just out of range of the night club noise, but a short walk to the beaches & shops, ( of which there are plenty).
We would highly recommend Sidari, especially Legends, to all ages, & we will definately be going back in the future

Jason B          10/10

Hi all,

Was in Sidari a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking at going back this year. There are some great beaches & views if you wanna travel a little. Three Brothers restuarant is a must. Great lobster at another restaurant/hotel in the middle of town that backs onto the beach, sorry, cannot recall its name but do shop around.
Scooter, car or bike hire is recommended for the entire time there, block bookings are cheaper than a daily rate, ask at your hotel as most are family run and will offer discount if sent to relatives.
If you love swimming, bring or buy a snorkle and flippers. Boat trips are a little long and can get easily be boring.
For those whole miss McDonalds (had to have 1 by the end of the 2nd week) only one is in Korfu Town where you'll also find some great shops.
Guys, watch your wallets, the girls will have you spending the next 3-5 months wages on clothes & jewellery I kid you not!
A trip to the islands water park is also a must, as is a trip up the mountain, you can see the entire island and even across to mainland.
I wouldn't bother with the trip to mainland, it takes most of the day there & back and you don;t get long there.
A boat trip to the "Blue Caves" is amazing, something mystical about them, for me anyway.

I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did, most of all, relax & enjoy the tranquil life that Corfu has to offer.

Jay

Hi Michelle, you have nothing to worry about in going to Sidari, there is something for everyone.  The weather will be nice and hot so not much more than a swim suit needed in the day time, in the evenings you can either dress up or be casual nobody takes a bit of notice.  Plenty of free pools and a decent beach.  Evenings can either be very lively, which will be nice for you two, or very quite, the choice is yours.  Food is excellent, go onto the restaruants page on this website and you will see the ones that have been recommened by holidaymakers.  You can eat Greek, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Indian oh and even English and the prices are very reasonable.  This is our 7th year and we go two of three time each year.  there is just so much to do if you want to, or you can just chill which we do. The Greek people are the most friendly people you could wish to meet and will make you very welcome.  Have a great time, I know you will.

Hey me and my friend went to Sidari in October 06' it was absolutely wikid n were def goin back next year!! The nighlife is amazin we didnt get back till 7.30/8 most mornings and the bars are crazy. Make sure you go the the ICE club its wicked and the BED bar, we spent most our nights there. Everyone is so friendly over there especially the waiters and the barman who are absolutely gorgeous! One thing to remeber you may not have a shower curtain...we didnt and found ourselves slipping over abit!! It is an absolutely brill place I def recommend it!

Simon & val T

we have being to Sadari 4 times now in 3 years and are going again in june 07, we find it it to be absaloutley brilliant and enjoy it every time we go. We have stayed in different accomodation every time and found evey one of them to be very nice and they all have lovely staff who make you feel very welcome and help to ensure your stay is a good one.We have become firm friends with dianne & stamati and there boys who own the blue sky, which is where we stayed the first time. The blue sky is about ten minutes walk down to the beach and is a small quiet but very nice and friendly place to stay. The locals remember you if you go back a second time which we found to be very nice.We like it that much that we are looking at moving to Sadari to live in a few years time.We can reccomend Sadari to young couples, elderly couples, single people and deffinatley families as there is something for everyone. SmileTongue

Sue S

Sidiar is a fantastic place to take a holiday whether its for singles or families, you will find something for everyone.  Plenty of places to eat, the kebab house is open until 6am, so when you crawl out the bars at 3am you can still get something to eat, and the kebabs are to die for not like the ones here and really cheap.

We have been going to Sidair for the past 6 years, this year spent 6 weeks there.  Have never once been bored or tired of the place as there is always something going on, when I come home I cant wait to go again (which will be July 2007).  BOLERO BAR on the main street is the most fantastic place on earth, perhaps not as posh as some of the bars but such a wonderful atmosphere.  The staff are great, and very entertaining, especially Sexy Sam and Georgeous George, you will go in a stranger and come out a friend.  From the owner to the chef they just cant do enough for you. You always feel safe in Sidari, my husband and I walk along the beach early hours on the morning its wonderful (I wouldnt walk down my street at home after dark). There are plenty of trips to go on, but dont go with the reps as you will pay twice the price for the same trip, even though they say its not, there are plenty of tourist places throughout the town, all charging about the same price.  You must go to Paleo either on the coach or boat.
The beach there is not the best in the world however you can use the pool in any of the hotels, even if your not stopping there, all they ask is you buy a drink from them even if its only water.
MAYBE SEE YOU IN SIDARI - DONT FORGET GIVE BOLEROS A TRY -

Chels E

Just got back from Sidari this morning. Holiday was amazing. We were staying in the Orestis Apartments, these were great, away from all the noise but not too far away. Anyone travelling to Sidari be careful as we heard from someone of a sickness bug and 4 out of 6 of our party had the bug within our stay. Also when eating out CHECK YOUR BILL as bars tried to rip us off and get extra money out of us. Dont eat at DORETHEAS CORNER as the food is rubbish and they rip you off for things you havent even eaten. Keep a note of the prices as they seem to change when you confront the waiter. Also next to the ICE BAR there is a shop selling trips to people. DONT BOOK IT HERE as we paid 16 euros each for a waste of a day out. We got told we would be on a glass bottom boat with a trip around some scenic views, into a cave then to Paradise beach for a BBQ. HA paradise??!! dont make me laugh. This so called "Paradise Beach" is an area full of pebbles that kill your feet, the caves were a hole in the mountain and we was told the boat held 100 when it held 90. When 80 were on the boat there was no room so we got made to go in a speed boat straight to the beach, missing all the scenic views. We were also told we could get off the boat and swim at the caves. Did we heck do this!! When we complained we were told "the water was too cold" when actually it was warm. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THE MAN IN HERE. Check out MIKEYS BAR Its amazing in there and has a great atmosphere especially when the drag queens on "Lady Jayne" It really is a great night out and the staff are amazing. They also do a good brekkie in a morning. Palazii Bar, Falcon Bar, Calypso, BED, all great bars and we made some great friends whilst among them. They really are worth checking out. Anybody wants any extra info on where to eat, where to visit, email me on chelsie12345@hotmail.co.uk.

Had a great time at Sidari, stayed at the Stema II apartments, where the nicest lady, Paula made sure we were looked after.  Went to Albania for the day, be interesting to see again in a few years time. The mozzies were something else and I am still in lumps one week after coming back.  All in all it was a very nice place and the entertainment at the Greek night was brilliant.

Andrea H

We are flying to Sidari on Tuesday but don't arrive til late. Probably about midnight!

Does anyone know if there will be food of some sort available so late in the night and late in the season or should we take some pasta to cook when we get there?

Thanks all.

Also can anyone recommend a nice place to eat that doesn't cost the earth.

Andrea.

Have just returned from Sidari after 2 fantastic weeks there this was my first time in Greece or on a greek island. I travelled alone but found the people all extremely friendly and fun.

Visit Mojitos Beach Bar  and enjoy the atmosphere good music and friendly service,  Felt like part of the family.

If you want night life there is enough around for most or if you want to chill then that too is available, if you drive hire a car for a few days as cheap as 20 Euros a day inclusive with lots of Coves and villages to see.  I hope to go back next year and visit to meet up with friends I have made and maybe to go out on some of the various trips that are available.

Warning to all you ladies travelling    look out for a character called  Elias  at Mojitos he will sweep you off your feet and   well need I say more about him; you have been warned!!

Look forward to seeing Olga and adele as welll as George, Sami and Laura, thanks guys

reply to Ella Law... re: wasps.... just come back from sidari and we loved it... the were a few wasps around but not many - no more than in the uk... i wouldnt let that put you off there werent that many and it was a really good holiday.

Danielle W

I had a wicked holiday , quality nightlife was out  everynight till early hours of the morning, i am terrified of wasps aswell and they didnt stop followin so i was forced to stay in the pool all day.  would definetly go back next year. x

Fay B

Hi peeps, we got home on Monday night (4th Sept) and everything was still in full swing when we left so you should be ok for the nightlife side of things.  Drinks aren't that cheap though, they're about the same price as here.  Look around for cocktails because some bars and restaurants offer them for about 3 Euros each (about £2.10) otherwise you will find that they're about 5 Euros at full price.  Most places offer a happy hour which lasts for about 3 hours where you get 1 Euro off too.  We found that the food is cheaper than the drink!

Happy holidays people, the weather is lovely at the mo and the greek people are really helpful and friendly!

Handy hint:  Take your mosquito repellent spray as there are loads of them in the evening.  You will also find that there are a lot of wasps around too during the day so be careful.

Hi Jennie
Like I've said I loved Sidari and truly miss everyone there especially at Bolero's and my Gorgeous George still  that i'm not there right now.  Hopefully the weather will still be holding up until the end of September, it should be warm by day but get's a little cool at night so yes take a light jacket and maybe a few pairs of cropped trousers or similar, if you need any more information then please do not hesitate to contact me by email laura@needham1979.freeserve.co.uk. The resort itself should be quitening down by then if you're after a relaxing time. Love & Best Wishes Laura x

Sidari was AMAZING!

We stayed at the Eleni Apartments and they are the best, about 10 mins out of the town which was great, no loud music etc, but a nice walk home etc. the pool is great for laying around and getting a tan.
Their bar is great in the evening showing movies and doing quizes etc.
Thomson were a rip off on days out when u can get them locally allot cheaper.!

We made so many good friends that we still keep in contact with back in the uk!.

Hiya we went to Sidari on 7th July for 2 weeks, it was our 1st time to Corfu. We stayed in the Louisa appartments near the Canal d'amour. The appartments were pretty basic but we made the best of them. We were very happy with Sidari and had the best holiday ever.

Laura N

Thoroughly agree with Sylvia, if you don't like what you see when you get there or are unhappy then report it to your Rep, if you don't then there's nothing you can do when you get back to the UK as all incidents reported to your Rep get sent back to the UK for recording purposes.  Sidari is the best place to be i've stayed there 2 years running (Garnavos Apartments last year and Legends Apartments this summer, Legends was superior with microwave, fridge/freezer, tv and well decorated).  I had the time of my life in this Resort. If you disagree  please let me know, you can email me laura@needham1979.freeserve.co.uk. Laura xx

Sylvia C

Sidari can be anything you want it to be it depends on where you choose to spend your days and evenings etc. Most apartments do tend to be basic but very clean. If Jimmys was unhygenic then take it up with your travel agent. Next holiday you book go to the north pole because Sidari does not want people to return with your attitude.

Mark W

Just got back from sidari, where we had 2 brilliant weeks, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at Spiros apartments where the staff will do anything and eveything to ensure you have a great holiday, allowing you to just kick back and relax. Thanks to George, Lea and the rest of the staff.

The night life is suitable for all, but most of the bars cater for fans of R & B however, the best bar in town is MOJO'S in which Billy (DJ) offers a pleasent mix of Funky house and other classic tracks while the best and friendliest bar staff in town ensure you are well plied with the tipple of your chioce (Sol in ours), aswell as any shots they can force in to you. Thanks to Alice, Nikos, Harris and most of all Karissa for your friendship.

If time and money permits, we will be back again in September.

Mark & Hayley

Laura N

Definitely agree with Rach, Kelly & Collette.  When did you girls leave!!??  I left on 15th July , cried my bloody eyes out on way home really missing the place.. especially my two barmen George and Sam at Bolero's.

I know Sidari was the best place to be by far, lively enough but not like Kavos, less chavvy.

Will be going back definitely for some more Sun, Sea etc.

Anyone can email me on laura@needham1979.freeserve.co.uk with their comments.

Love

We are 3 20 yr old Uni girls, just come back from Sidari a couple of weeks ago. Stayed at Palmar Apartments booked via Thomas Cook and to be honest I cannot believe the 3 star rating..it was def. a 4 in our eyes. Booked 4 days before travelling and weren't expecting much, in the end we didn't want to leave. Palmar Apts is just on the outskirts of Sidari, but don't let that put you off as a ten minute walk takes you to the beautiful canal d'amour beach, which is an alcove and you can swim underneath rocks and swim out to odd ones in the sea. We didn't go to Sidari beach as our end isn't that nice due to a stinky river, but the canal d'amour is awesome and much more fun. Palmar is run by Spiros and Costas and their family and this makes the atmosphere really welcoming.. especially as there is only 18 SC apartments and a fairly large pool so everyone gets to know each other. Possibly the only place not to do karaoke and this adds a touch of sophistication...something we weren't expecting on a budget! Had a BBQ one night with greek dancing and a greek meal..cost us a tenner (which severly outraged us as it was 5 million times better than the Thomas Cook greek night we had been on a couple of nights before that had cost us 40 euros..rip off... and the food was rice and chips..) Considering our age, we only went out one night in Sidari and it was OK, but a bit quiet, may be due to the fact we went at the beginning of the season. There are clubs but we didnt find them and went back to the hotel instead which was more entertaining and less 'chavvy.' A couple of ladies in out hotel said the nightlife is good, not as busy as Kavos thank god but still rather good for young people. We did the walk to sunset beach which is a MUST!! Awesome view and ate a meal watching the sunset...thomas book rep said it takes an hour to walk but it took us 35 mins...just remembr to take mozzy spray and water..a taxi back was 8 euros and the restaurant rings one for you. All in all an awesome hotel and pool, awesome little beachs, the people were really friendly and we felt really safe. Make sure you go to the 3 Little pigs as they do really good food and greek dancing...dont be put off by the fact you aren;t on the sidari strip because its a bit chavvy and louder..though if you like that kinda thing it only takes 15 mins to walk there. All amenities were very close and well priced and therefore its suitable for couples, families (just watch the weather as it does get really hot) and young people who have just grown up from the Magaluf phase of their lives!!

Have a wicked time because we did!

Rach, Kelly and Collette

Laura N

Just got back (Sat 15th July) Sidari well what can I say having been there two years running!! Best beaches by far beating Roda and Acharavi best nightlife especially Caesars (had a foam party on Thursday night) and Falcon Bar really hot staff.  Bolero Bar the best bar by far.  Looking forward going back hopefully next year x

Mark C

Me and my partner have just had a week in Sidari. Its my third time but her first. got back on the 14 July.  It was pretty much unchanged in the years since Ive been before.  It is still a grest place to go!  The accomadation is nothing special.  The town is brillant with all the excellant bars and good beaches.

Sam

Sidari is great!! We arrived back on the 10TH of july and we 2 are goin 2 book 2 go back at the end of August!! the nightlife is really good - and everything is really cheap out there!! Not to mention the HOT PR guys!!!

Jane E

I arrived back from Sidari last Friday and my friend and I are off to the travel agents on sat to book up for the end of august!  We loved it, we didn't venture out to the beach as we'd heard some dodgy reviews however I think we'll give it a go next time. We were quite happy to lounge around the pool all day preparing for our night out on the town. The nightlife was great, I would recommend BED bar and Ceasers. All the bars we went to were fab and look out for the PRs as they always manage to get you some free drinks!

The apartments we stayed in were about a 15 minute walk into town which meant that when we went to bed we could actually go to bed without having to worry about any noise from the bars. If you've not already booked up, we stayed in the Spiros apartments - book through thomson. All staff were friendly, the apartments were spotless and we had maid service daily.

The food was ok once you know where to go, as well as being a club, BED bar also has a restaurant - quite cheap and you get really big portions. I would also recommend the mexicans - although we did have to wait a while for our order!

Anyone who's going to sidari in the near future - have a great time, i might see you there!

Ruth M

got back from sidari yesterday and absolutly loved it!! we stayed at the ektor aparts about 10 mins walk out of town which is good. the main street is full of bars and clubs. perfect from those who want to go clubbing. not really much available for families. the main beach is ok. but if you walk further round and behind the canal d'amour you will find nicer beaches. food is quite cheap and large portions. recomend this holiday to young people 18-35. and definetly go to ceasers at around 3 in the morning as it is brilliant.

Just got back from Sidari, really enjoyed our stay.  There is something for everyone but not necessarily the best place to go if you are looking for a bit more traditional Greek.  Main beach left a lot to be desired, it did smell quite sewagey, wasn't that clean and there was a lot of seaweed everywhere.  But if you would be happy on the average beach in England, then you would be okay on Sidari beach - just don't expect anything special.

Best restaurants - Pancho's Villa, which is Mexican but gives massive portions and you don't want to be eating Greek/English for two weeks
Three Little Pigs
Memories
The Roof Garden

There is an abundance of bars etc, although a lot of happy hours start at 12am, and we found the place can be quite quiet before about 10pm, so not really much buzz going on if you go out for an early drink.

By the way, I would definitely reccomend using one of the local places if you want to go on a day out or excursion somewhere as opposed to going on one of the rip off tours that the reps offer you - a trip to Corfu Town through Thomas Cook cost 20 euros per person, whereas at the place two minutes down the road from us it cost 3 euros per person, using the same drivers and coaches etc. and just as reliable.

Sharon B

we have been to corfu [sidari ] a few times it was excellent ,we stayed in stamatis the first time and then in the lia , my husband and his friend went last year and stayed in dinos which had the added advantage of air conditioning ;the best tour operator was manos and the reps live at sidari so thats an advantage.,and also manos beig a greek company they can answer all your questions ,you should hire a speed boat out for the day inexspensive and excellent fun . the coves are the best ,try to stay canal d mour end

I would recommend Sidari to everyone. Absolutely fab! The people were very friendly and made you very welcome. Best english breakfast and sunday lunch at Fagins(next to the three little pigs) best pint of beer and welcome at sea monkeys on the beach, run by an english couple andy and fiona

Lauren M

i am just back from sidari , and i found it was great . Everyone is so friendly there and there is something for everyone , there are great watersports down at the beach and quad bikes to hire for only 25 euros for the whole day. I found the best pubs there were "one for the road" if you are looking for a place out the way but still on the main street , also "shakers" and "bed" where really good (you need to try the cocktails in bed they are amazing)."ceasers" is also a great nightclub but not till after 1am there are to many kids in there b4 1am,so i'd say stick to the pubs then when they are closing ead to cesars. i went at the end of may but i plan on going back in july it was that brillaint and the peak season hasnt even kicked off yet. i stayed in sunny corfu apartments and they were brilliant thanks to all the friend staff (spiros , always up to no good lol ). and to the person that mention about the pardise hotel , i have herd its a nice place to go and it is really near the main street. well anyone goign there i hope you all have a nice holiday .

Hey everyone, just been to sidari for 2 weeks, and it was AMAZING! stayed at the stema hotel apartments. were very clean and modern, and had a lovely big pool and great lil bar. Im 21 so i found the best pubs were Shakers, Calypso, IQ and Bolero. The club Caesers is brill, only gets a lil packed on a saturday night with locals. stays open till 6am! There are sooo many places to eat, we could get a 3 course meal for about £8! restaurants are sooo cheap but the food is excellent! The beaches are nice, and there are loads of watersports to do. Its a great place for families and couples as well as the singles!

We have just got back from two wonderful weeks in the Zafiris apartments in Sidari and I would recommend the place to anyone. we have stayed there twice now and was greeted this time with hugs and kisses when we arrived they made us feel very welcomed  and they have baths in their apartments too,lol

Hi

Just got back from the Sidari Village, and it was fantastic.  The accomodation, staff, food drinks were faultless.
Our party luckily took up the All-inclusive offer which they had, so for 20euros (£15), but think it might be 40euros soon.

Sidari is a very small town, can walk it all in ten mins, not many shops, all usual holiday tack, but there's nothing like a bit of tack sometimes !

The Red Lion is a great bar for a laugh, and get served drinks at your tables - how lazy was i not to walk three steps! LOL
If you want a late night disc/club then Caesar's is very good, got really full and its only the start of the season

Laura N

I thoroughly agree with everything Sue Schofield has said, Sidari is a place second to none! Whether you're after a relaxing holiday or somewhere with a bit of a buzz.  Bolero Bar is a must, they have pole dancing (after a certain time), extremely pleasant resident DJ, excellent value for money food, Elvis impersonator, karaoke and even a hypnotist .  I'm off to Sidari again this year 30 Jun to 15th July, staying at Legends Apartments.

Like all Greek Islands the Corfiots will leave you alone if you'd prefer not being pestered.

Warmest Regards

We have been to Sidari for the last 3 years in October and are returning again in oct this year. We feel the beach is safe althought not mega clean. It is a peaceful holiday for us, but can also enjoy the local greek nights in the three brothers hotel which is excellent and also enjoy the three pigs entertainment and food. This holiday for us is so versatile and would reccommend it. ( We are both in late 40s, 50s and have a 5 year old, we are all catered for). Enjoy

Sidari is a fabulous resort.  The beaches are not fantastic but clean enough, with plenty off activities going on.  If you dont like the beach there are plenty off pools around, and you can use any of them even if not staying at that accommodation.  We have been going two/three times a year since 2000, for the last couple of years the PR's outside some of the bars were a huge problem and put a lot of people off going back, but whilst we were there last year there was a big meeting with the bar owners and the council and it was agreed to scale down on them.  This made hell of a difference and once again it was a treat walking down the main street at night, and not feel that you have to go in.  Food in Sidari is so reasonably priced, no point in cooking yourself.  Best bar we have found is Boleros in the main street, you will be made soooooo welcome there I always feel very safe in Sidari, my husband and I can often be found wandering home along the beach at 2am.  I wouldnt walk down my own street at home at night time. We have visited other Greek resorts/island but never felt truly comfortable.  Try Sidari I am sure you wont be disappointed.
Cant wait to return in May this year, then again in July, and maybe again later in the year.

Laura H

sidari is excellent, so are the eleni apartments!

we stayed last june and loved it, will go back as soon as we can.

I have just booked to go to sidari in June staying at Christakis apartments can anyone give me some info on these apartments also sidari as a bit worried about it being too lively we are both in our 50s but like a good time but not into clubbing(leave that to our son)

To Andrea Hay

You have made a great choice by going to the tondoris apartments, this will be our 4th year staying at the tondoris, & we will be there the same time as you. Our sons aged 15 & 12 always find plenty to do. The resort is for all ages, the canal d’amore  area where the apartments are is quiet with some nice taverna’s  & bars, moving on into sidari it gets a bit more lively, so you have the best of both worlds.

I don’t think you will be disappointed with the apartments they have  one of the most friendly staff going ,they cant do enough for you ,the tondoris is only about 5 mins walk to the beach and about 15mins to middle of Sidari.

Sidari is fantastic, there is something for everyone.

We are going to Sidari in Aug 06, party includes our 2 sons aged 16 & 11 and I am concerned that there will not be enough for them to do.Also concerned that it it not really a family resort. Staying @ Tondoris Appartments. Can anyone provide feedback as this is our first visit to Corfu.

David T

Thank-you Alison Limb for your welcome comments regards to Hotel Alkion and Sidari in general. the only problem I have now is waiting to go in Aug.

David T

we are staying at the hotel Alkion.

We are going to Sidari in August ..... what are the best eating places to hit - no specific type of food prefered. :-)

Claire

Pedalos...are pretty safe if your carefull on them, coz they are peddle powered they only go as fast as you can peddle. Water wise its pretty shallow most of the way out, so again if your carefull then you shouldn't encounter any trouble.

there are stacks of places to choose from and all prices are resonable so you've got plenty to pick from.

Can someone let me know if they have ever experienced the pedlos on Sidari beach.  I've had my eye on trying one at other resorts but have always had second thoughts nearer the time.  Basically, are they safe and are they fast? If they are fast I'm sure I won't be trying them!

Alison L

as other post i have been going to Sidari for 5 years and I have never felt unsafe there the people are so friendly and cant do enough for you
