Just come home from Roda this morning. After reading all the reviews on the Coral hotel from here with all the high ratings we were quite disappointed once we got there, the room was very basic and to be honest more than a little grubby. The bathroom was especially bad, every day we had water all over and it was always black, no idea where it was coming from but it wasn't nice at all. We went B&B but only had the breakfast we'd paid for once, it wasn't up to much at all. The toasting machine just warmed your bread rather than actually toasting it, and the only other thing on offer was cereal - with warm milk. We prefered to walk down to one of the many cafes and restaurants nearby and get a decent breakfast instead. And the pool wasn't anything special either, we discovered one on the first day which is next door but one to the hotel called Danny's pool, free to use with lots of sunloungers and a pool bar, and a great selection of food. Having said that, the hotel is well sitauted, right on the beach, 5 mins from the centre of Roda and a short walk from Acharavi.

Just got back from a week in Roda today, it was my first time abroad and on the whole I enjoyed it. The hotel we were in was a huge disappointment after the reviews I'd read on this site for it, but we didn't spend much time there so it wasn't so bad. Roda is a lovely town with a lot to offer for the right people, if I'd gone with my mates I might have found the lack of nightclubs a bit of a letdown but I was with my boyfriend so that wasn't really an issue. There are lots of great places to eat, such as Odysseus (I recommend the Chicken Eveli - gorgeous!!!) and Roda Park, and there's a really nice Chinese restaurant too. The beach is ok on the west side of the town, but the nearer you get to Acharavi the more pebbles you get and your best bet is probably to go to Danny's pool and beach bar instead! It's a lovely pool, free to use with lots of sun loungers, and a great choice of food and drinks. We spent a LOT of time there! You can book on a variety of trips by coach or book, which is good because it gets you out and about a bit and they're very reasonably priced.
