Dinos Apartments - (Accommodation in Sidari)

Helen M

Just returned from 2 weeks staying at Dinos. Loved the WHOLE holiday. Apartments basic as you would expect for Greece, but fine none the less. There are 2 blocks of apartments and depending which one you stay in you could have a full kitchen or just a sink and a cupboard. Shower in the bathroom but nothing to attach the shower head to the wall with (not uncommon), just takes a bit more time thats all. Maid/cleaner very friendly. Bedding changed once a week (we were there for 2 weeks and had 1 change of bedding). Towels changed 2/3 times a week, I think. Pool does not have many sunbeds though and can get a bit crowded but most people go to the beach anyway. Loads of bars and restaurants have pools and offer free sunbeds, some on the beachfront.

Excellent location - close enough but just far enough away so you don't get the noise. There is a lot of traffic noise in the morning though. The main BIG supermarket is about 10 minutes away, turn right as you come out of the apartments. Other smaller supermarkets are dotted around. If it says 'Cava' then it's really an off-licence, but some sell bread and crisps.

Word of warning - away from the main centre of the 'strip' there are no pavements and the traffic is very busy at most times during the day with cars, coaches and even some heavy goods vehicles! My tip is to always walk in the direction of the oncoming traffic, otherwise you never know what's coming up behind you...

Athena - (Restaurants in Sidari)

It was nice, but nothing special, took ages to get served, waiters were more interested in people they knew and all female groups.

Faros - (Restaurants in Sidari)

More waiters than customers. 10% off our meal offered to entice us in. Hubby had risotto with tinned carotts which was so bland he had to empty the contents of the salt n pepper into it. Not as it was advertised.
Prawn cocktail was very good though.
Quickest meal we had all holiday - from sitting down to leaving was about 30-40 mins.
Wouldn't go back enven if it was free.

San Remo - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Got a take away from here - a whole chicken for EUR8.50

When we got it back to the apartment and opened the hot bag it was full of chips as well.

Really tasty. Wish we'd have tried it before!

The Roof Garden - (Restaurants in Sidari)

Some of the best food we ate all holiday!

Meze was so filling I nearly couldn't eat the main course! Tuna pasta gets top marks! Steak was beautiful. Staff very friendly and can't do enough for you. It's very popular so you will need to book if you want to eat around 8pm, nearer 9pm should not be too bad but we were there 1st 2 weeks September. The food does take longer to come through beacuse they are so busy, but in my opinion it's worth the wait.

Same people own Rose Garden and Red Lion.
