roberto's 1 have just been taken over by us a british couple living in corfu the rooms are due to be updated 2007 but are clean tidy and there are none of the problems with cleaners which they had last year (no clean sheets towels for 10 days) we hope regulars will not be disapointed if they come back. they are not with a tour company now and a web site is being set up very soon. Any information can be obtained by ringing me on 00306944505954 or 00302663032274

I can't beleive the last other comments made on Robertos II. I've just got back yesterday and I couldn't wait to put them right. I can't say anything about Robertos I, I didn't see it. But Robertos II was no problem. Yes, it is over a camera shop but that isn't a problem with us. It didn't make a difference at all, no noise or anything. The apartments were VERY clean and maids cleaned it twice in one week, they did this when we'd left also. We hadn't noticed them coming or going just coming home with the room clean. There's no damp. The rooms had a door with a vent, glass doors then a curtain accross. This kept the rooms cool, you could also leave them open but locked to let any breeze in. The balcony was hot, but we liked that. Isn't that the reason you go abroad for the sun? Get sum extra rays whilst the GFs were getting ready and have a drink. We didn't get one fly in our room!

I went with my girlfriend, my mate and his girlfriend sharing the apartment. We had two very nice sized rooms with plenty room. We actually rented a room on the last day as we had a late flight at the Silver Beach Hotel up the road which we used their pool. I'd rather have stayed at Robertos II. The rooms were tiny, full of flysants, too hot, tiny balcony and we were ripped off too and charged more than everyone else.
The pool and bar was nice there though. Very nice. We spent most days day there just relaxing. That was only 100m away from us, and if we went 100m in the other direction that was the beach! Perfect location. There was an unfinished building in front of us, which was a bit of an eyesore but not a big problem. Most of what you could see were the nice bars and if you got a room at the back of the apartments you could see the beach!!

With the doors shut at night, that blocked out any noise. You could hear a carcoachike go past now and again, but unless your hotel is situated 10mile out of town in the country side I reckon you'll get this anywhere - it definately wasn't a nuisance.

One other nice little touch, for familys or anyone really. Right beneath the apartments was the local doctors which was open quite a lot of the time, sometimes late into the night with a call out number if not.

As for the drains, Greece doesn't have good drains anyway and you're told not to flush papers down the toilet and put them in the bin at the side. This is the same all over Corfu and I think all of Greece. It was a bit funny to get used to but not that much of a problem. I didn't smell any bad smells and the bins weren't even outside our apartments, nor did they smell really.

I think whoever wrote the last comment wouldn't be happy in a 5 star hotel, on the beach in the Maldives!
I went into our travel agents playin up hell about our apartments before we went, waving about these reviews I'd printed off. I was assured it would be okay, and I'd just like to apoligise because they were right!

These two apartments are linked together in the Manos brochure but couldn't be more different. Robertos I is basic in the usual Corfu-style, but is ok. Location-wise the block is in the courtyard beside the church in the centre of Roda, and although there are a couple of restaurants nearby is relatively peaceful. Robertos II is just awful. Situated above the camera shop, opposite a building site and the communal dustbins, in the blazing sun all afternoon and into the evening so unbearably hot, with drains that don't work and have to be pumped out twice a week, on a very noisy street with motor bikes lorries and coaches going past all day and all night, smelling of petrol fumes or worse when the stink lorry comes, and with cleaners and their kids outside the door at half eight in the morning making as much noise as possible to get you out, and the whole apartment floods if you have a shower! The trouble is you don't know which Robertos you are going to get. We went to Robertos I last year and loved it. Asked for the same this year but got Robertos II. It is truly dreadful. Beware.
