Captain Studios

Accommodation in Paleokastritsa

Steph E

We just got back from Paleokastritsa, and stayed at the Captain Studios. In general, these 3 small studios are good for those on a tight budget, but looking for clean and comfortable accommodation. It has to be said that they were VERY SMALL, we had a twin bed studio, and was so small that both beds had to be pushed up together to allow space around the beds! The bathroom has a shower/sink/loo, and the kitchenette has a small fridge, electric rings and an electric kettle.
I would say the best thing about the studio was the location. You are up a steep hill (not good for those with walking difficulities, but great if you want to work off some extra calories!), and you have a lovely view of the bays and the hill-top monestry. Each studio has a small outdoor patio area, with a table and two chairs. We were lucky to have studio one, which had the largest outdoor area of  the three. The studios are not on a main road, so were very quiet when compaired to some others we have stayed in. The beach is only 5 minutes away, and there is a small shop selling food/drink a few seconds away.
One word of warning,...we saw a few RATS running around only a few feet away from the studios!! You are surrounded by fir trees and olive grooves, so there is bound to be a bit of wild-life around, but those rodents that we saw looked pretty well fed! If that doesn't put you off, then you will have a lovely time if you stay here.

I have just booked a holiday to; Paleokastritsa, Corfu. We shall be staying at Bolvedera apartments. I would be very grateful, if anyone who has visited this area, and stayed at these apartments would let me know something about it.
What are the apartments like? How close are they to the nearest beach? Any information will be most helpful.

Thanking you,

A. Buckley.

Just got back from a weeks holiday in Paleo. We had a fantastic time and all fell in love with the island. We stayed in Captain Studios, at the very end of Paleo, fairly near the monastery. In fact we had a great view of the monastery from our verandah. The studios were small and basic, but clean & comfortable. One or two niggles - noisy fridges, a toilet door that wouldn't lock or close properly, so banged every time there was a breeze and one or two fixtures & fittings had seen better days. However, the fantastic view from the verandah more than made up for any minor problems. The owners were lovely and very helpful. There are only 3 studios - one double bedded and two twin bedded. They are within an easy stroll of the nearest beach, although it's uphill on the way back. Close by is Jimmy's supermarket, run by the same family, where you can pick up essential supplies. We would recommend these studios for a budget holiday in a beautiful location.
