Lissipio Complex

Accommodation in Paleokastritsa

Julie B

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Lissipio A (the oldest block of accommadation). It is by far the poorest accommadation we have ever stayed in. The mattresses felt like we were sleeping on a bag of spanners, the road noise was terrible both day and night. As for the cleanliness, well the kitchen utensils were disgusting. They were filthy....food stuck to the knives and forks, plates/cups. The pots and pans looked like they were at least 30 years old! The floor was only swept and washed once in 2 weeks. I made the mistake of looking under the beds to find dust/hair etc, which must of been there for months. The drawers needed to be wiped out before putting our clothes into them, they to were filthy. The towels were changed at least 3 times which was good.  Would I recommend these appts to anyone? NO

Back from two weeks in June at The Lissipio and i must admit we did wonder what we had let ourselves in for. Yes it was basic but we expected that the bin(yes that one) was emptied no less than every two days the biggest let down was the towels and linen being changed only once, as for the apartment it self it was clean and also has a kettle and shower curtain(always an extra). A new feature for this year was the Swimming Pool and Pool Terrace bar area this is all immaculate. The bar was very cheap and a nice way to end the day with a drink getting the last rays of sun as the balcony we had only got the sun in the morning till about 3.00pm.  All in all i would reccomend this property for the price and it could not be in a better setting.

lissipio complex was situated in what could be the most picturesque part of corfu
when we arrived the apartment had been superficially cleaned- but there was lots of rubbish under the beds and dirt adn grime all round. the water came out scalding. the towels and bed linen were not changed which was diabolical
the cleaners came once - bin only emptied once which was rubbish in mid aug temps of 30 degrees!!
pool opposite lovely adn the beach was quiet and relaxing
local restaurants good and everyone friendly
yes go to paleo but dont stay here- not good at all

Lissipio Apartments were very basic and right at the start of paleokastritsa. It was a 45 minute walk from the centre of paleo and the beaches which were mostly pebble. The apartments were in the process of having a pool build and will be lovely when finished. The bedlinnen and towells were only changed once a week which i thought was diabolical in the middle of a heatwave when you are constantly sweating. There is a supermarket only 5 minutes walk away which is well stocked and reasonably priced. We had the use of a pool 2 mins over the road which was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Paleokastritsa itself is absolutely beautiful, but you definately need transport to appreciate its beauty. We have two children and i would say there is not really an awful lot to keep them amused. in fact, apart from the pool there is nothing at all to keep them amused. very quiet and relaxing but could do with a few more places where you can relax with a drink and enjoy entertainment.

Just got back from one week at Lissipio Complex. Be aware that there are two blocks of apartments; the old one, as shown in the Olympic Brochure, and the new one, at a right angle to this. Old one is dark, musty, showing its age, and in May, damn chilly. Kitchen equipment very very basic, beds are awful - a mattress full of springs. The new apartments are cleaner but bland. Both blocks are situated between two roads, so road noise is inevitable. The beach near the Akrotiri hotel is the nearest (15-20 mins) but take sandals or surfers shoes or else the pebbles and spikey critters in the sea'll get ya. Corfu is a very friendly place however and the locals are lovely.

If anybody goes to Lissipio, can u check out the Princess Apts just over the road and if poss get a contact address or phone number, many thanks

I stayed here in 2000 with my mate Sarah. 1st word of advice: take earplugs, we were on the back of the complex and it was like Brands Hatch, with scooters whizzing by constantly 24/7.Romms were clean, as was the bathroom and toilet (essntial!). Does not have a Pool but can use surrounding pools free, nice to walk round and check out the other accomadation. There if a FANTASTIC place across the road called Princess Apartments, Im currently trying to find a contact for this place cos it was so good, beautiful bar area suppling fab food and lovely local beer all day, right by a lovely little pool. Very family orientated, we made some good friends, lots of Dutch people who, once we had sorted the language barrier, were really good company also. Give it a whirl, I would go again. Beware, sea is ICY, beach big cobbles. But, there are some really lovely places to eat and it wasn't dear. Have a good time

Oh - forgot to mention - we are also staying at Lissipio, and although the complex itself doesn't have a pool, there is use of a pool at the neighbouring apartments, about 5 mins away.

Hiya - I am also planning to stay in Paleokastritsa, this June. I have found several websites showing photos of Paleo beaches, and they all have people sunbathing in them. Some were on sunbeds, but others were just laid on beach towels. The beaches look to be a mixture of pebbles and sand - but white! Snorkelling is apparently some of the best in Europe and the water is turquise and crystal clear - apparently the sea is ALWAYS cold in Paleo, though.

Hope this helps. Ali.

Very interested in visiting western Corfu with family in early August and Lissipio Complex, according to Olympic, has a pool. My wife is concerned about Paleokastritsa's pebbly beach - can the beach be used for sunbathing or is there a little sand to do some serious sunbathing. Look forward to hearing from you.
