Accommodation in Paleokastritsa

Booking started with a very kind email-conversation with Spiros and was very helpful for arranging logistic details before the journey started. No question was left unanswered. We came with 2 kids (4 and 10) and were directly picked up by a taxi at the airport (organized by Spiros). At the house we had a warm welcome by Spiros and his very kind wife showing us the rooms and the garden. We found a wonderful little beach (small stones, no sand) a 3 min walk downstairs the house, that was not so busy. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the ocean was clean and well temperatures. We had the opportunity to also use a swimming pool 2 min walk from the house in a nice hotel (good snacks!). End of July and August was very, very hot (even Spiros and his wife said so!!), so it was great to have a well functioning air condition in the bedrooms! For the night time we were happy to have moquito nets, because of the kids. All in all a very relaxing holiday in a wonderful placed house and a very individual and friendly care by Spiros and his wife. Thanks a lot and for the best olive oil ever!

Just spent a week here. Talk to Spiros the owner before you leave and he will arrange taxi transfer from the airport. (40euros sept 2012). Cheaper than getting a taxi at the airport. He is also there to greet you and show you around. A very nice and helpful person. The villa is basic, very clean and has stunning views and lovely gardens and air conditioning in the bedrooms. It's quite close to other villas and hotels but doesn't feel like it due to the layout of the land and the trees. It almost felt like a little house in an olive grove. We mostly ate out but I did manage to produce kebabs for the BBQ (provided) and saute potatoes on the stove quite easily. Sitting on the terrace in the evenings was bliss. 45 steps up to the path leading to the villa so not really for anyone with mobility issues. I'm nearly 60 and managed without problems. Leave the lights on when you go out and there is no problem seeing on the way back. Couple of mini markets close by and the bus stop into Corfu town is at the bottom of the steps across the road. Paleo is lovely. Lots of beaches, tavernas and restaurants to suit all tastes. Cabaret and kareoke nights if you want them. The monastry is lovely. Wonderful walk up to Lakones through the trees at the back of the villa. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Villa Thekli.

Villa Thekli is a nice and private place. We stayed two weeks in July 2012 with our two kids (4J/6J). We liked the nice garden with old olive trees very much. From the terrace you have a beautiful view to the see and the cost line. Spiros and his wife are very kind people. We hope, we will be back soon. Greetings from Berlin.

Thekli Villa is a lovely villa set up quite a steep hill behind the Odeysseas Hotel.  Is not really very easy to get to if you have problems walking or with a buggy, but we did have a buggy when we went and it was possible.  It can be very dark when returning at night so best to bring a torch, although you can leave outside lights on from the villa which light up the final path to the villa.  Has fantastic views and as it is out of the way is very quiet.  The owners were lovely and friendly and kept the villa spotless.  The villa itself is basic but comfortable with a well eqipped if not old fashioned kitchen and nice seating area.  There is a large double bedroom room with patio doors out to the balcony and a smaller twin room to the rear.  I think one of the sofas in the lounge folded down but we didn't have to do this.  As well as the balcony there is also a pretty garden to the front and side.

The villa is situated in the centre of Paleo so there as shops and bars within 5 mins whichever way you walk.  There is a fab restaurant called the Dolphin at the bottom of the hill on the other side of the road from the villa but be warned there is a long walk back up so best go for a drink before heading home.  There are plenty of pools to use nearby with the closest being at the Odysseas Hotel.  There is also a bus stop and the bottom of the road leading to the villa for popping into Corfu Town.  The beaches in Paleo aren't great but the best one is about a 10 min walk to the right of the villa.

We loved our holiday here and would highly recommend the villa for a nice quiet holiday, but still being close to the centre of the resort.
