I had heard Spiros had opened his own place but only found it by chance and I am am glad I did, he made us very welcome and whenever we go back to Sidari this is where we shall eat, We have known Spiros for a number of years now. Frank x2, Jamie and myself were here 12 june 07 we each had different dishes and the only complaint I had was there was far too much food! it was exquisite, I had the special stew , made by his mum and it was out of this world, Spiros can talk for Scotland so give yourself all night to relax and enjoy the food and company, Brill

10/10 i would just like to say that the sailors is the best resturant in sidari..so i think you should go there every day, for breakfast, lunch & tea..
when i c u spiro i`m sure gonna squeeze those cheeks!! lol mel

most of you will know spiros. yep hes the george michael lookalike only better looking!
when i found out earlier this year that he was opening his own place i was really happy as the energy, enthusiasm and hard work he puts in would pay off for him and his family rather than to line someone elses pockets.
i couldnt wait to go in may. i was taking my nan away to corfu for the first time and visited sailors on the day after opening. in the days previous i had passed several times and had seen spiors and his family busily getting everything prepared and the last minute bits done. they were there from early in morning till late at night.
the restaurant as the name suggests has a nautical feel and is light, airy and spacious. it also caters for families in that it has a great play area for kids near but not too near to some of the tables.
spiros has the whole family working in the kitchen including mum, dad, wife and sister. the food is fresh and excellent quality. there are always lots of corfiot people in there. a good sign. my nan was quite reserved in her order not knowng what to expect from corfiot food and ordered calamari. although she really enjoyed this i have to say she is now converted after trying my kleftiko. it was great, huge portion and good value. this was washed down with red wine and followed by on of spiros cocktails the 'shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' yep thats the name.
i wish spiros and his family all the best now and in the future and look forward to visiting again soon.

10/10we met spiros last year when he worked at the zafiris . got on great with him . we stayed in touch with him . glad to see he had opened his own place . we went there loads of times this year . the food is amazing . from the kids meals to the traditional home cooked dishes . you have to go and try it . if you do say hi to spiros and his family for me . i will be back there next year

10/10Well what a Great place Sailors is.
Great Food, Great People, Great Atmosphere.
If you are due to go to Sidari, you really must give the Sailors a try. They serve fantastic Greek food & wine, have speciality nights, as well as a play area for Children away from the tables, but still in sight.
Spiros and his family have worked really hard to make this a wonderful restaurant. You receive a personal service and the tables aren't too close togteher. There is a wide menu and every dish we tried was superb.
We'll see you again later this year.

Well what can I say apart from - WOW!! So glad we found Sailors Restaurant. Was gutted first day there to learn Spyros had left the Zafiris complex but alas there is a god and we found him!!!!
The food at Sailors is second to none - my friend had octopus and oh boy, it was a full octopus alright! There was 6 of us in our party and we can't rave about it enough.

Finally get to tell folk about the Sailors! This place is brand new this year and is the only restaurant in Sidari to open all year round. All the food is freshly cooked to family recipes. Which family I hear you ask?
The family of Spiros Vlaseros - previously manager of the waterfall restaurant at Zafiris apartments (he thinks he looks like George Michael - oh look, there's the great man himself. Oh, alright, he does a bit).
He has now opened his own place and has his wife, sister, mother and father all helping in the kitchen and out front.
My wife, son and I ate there several times during this year's trip to Sidari and the food was excellent. Kleftiko (a big favourite of mine) was done in a filo parcel - superb. The baked feta was also a winner, we have tried it elsewhere but this was the best so far. Having met Spiros already we knew the service was always going to be excellent and all are greeted as friends.
Good luck to Spiros, Angelika, Aphrodite, Maria and Theo with your new business. We will hopefully see you in 2008.
